The question is, are testosterone boosters actually effective? We’ll answer that question and more in this GNC Nugenix review. I’ve personally tested a TON of these things, and I can tell you that the answer is YES, THEY WORK…but only SOME of them.
Many people like Nugenix, and I do think it’s a solid product overall…plus, Nugenix reviews from users are generally positive as well…but does that mean you should try it too, and does Nugenix work?
Keep reading to find out why I see Nugenix as a solid product, but ultimately decided NOT to rank it as one of my top 5 Best Testosterone Boosters.
By the way, my #1 ranked testosterone booster on that list will absolutely blow your mind. I still take it on a daily basis because of how effective it was for me, and I’d highly recommend checking it out.
GNC Nugenix Review 2021: Does Nugenix work?
Nugenix is a solid testosterone booster, but frankly, it’s not elite. There are a handful of 3-4 truly elite test boosters on the market at the moment, and Nugenix just isn’t one of them. That’s not to say it’s a bad supplement by any means…in fact, it ranks somewhere in our top 10. It’s just not good enough to be considered one of the absolute best and doesn’t crack our top 5.
What is Nugenix testosterone booster?
Nugenix is a testosterone booster that people have been absolutely raving about lately. In fact, men everywhere have been going absolutely crazy for natural testosterone boosters in general lately, and for good reason. We just don’t think Nugenix is the right one to choose.
What is Nugenix used for?
What does Nugenix do for you? Nugenix is designed to help naturally stimulate increased testosterone production within your body. The goal is to optimize testosterone levels and thereby improve your ability to build lean muscle mass as well as boost your libido.

Nugenix free sample info
People always love to jump on a free sample, but this is not one I would recommend due to the terms. The Nugenix testosterone booster free sample deal requires you to put your credit card info down, and they will charge your card for a 30-day supply a week or two after you sign up for the free sample.
Nugenix ingredients: what is in Nugenix?
So, what are the ingredients in Nugenix? The Nugenix active ingredients in the Nugenix testosterone booster are as follows:
- Tribulus Terrestris
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B12
Let’s take a closer look at the Nugenix testosterone booster ingredients.
L-Citrulline is an amino acid known for being one of the most effective nitric oxide boosters on the market. It does a very efficient job of increasing nitric oxide production in the body, which should thereby lead to better blood flow and circulation. For that reason, Citrulline is believed to help improve blood flow to the genitals in the context of a test booster formula.
As one of the best testosterone boosting ingredients available today, Fenugreek is an absolute necessity in any and every test booster formula. It has more scientific research and clinical studies backing its benefits than perhaps any other test booster ingredient…we are big proponents of Fenugreek for that reason.
However, it’s important to note that Fenugreek is used in a specific version known as Testofen in this formula, and the creators of Testofen have gotten into some trouble lately with lawsuits…be careful with products that contain Testofen.
Tribulus Terrestris is a natural herb that is believed to help enhance libido and improve sexual performance, which is why it has become another staple ingredient in the test booster industry over the years. While it is not as frequently clinically studied as Fenugreek, there is some research that suggests it may be effective.
Zinc is one of the oldest tricks in the testosterone booster book. This natural trace mineral has been used by men for ages to improve sex drive. As one of the most tried and true test booster ingredients, this nutrient should be one of the active ingredients in every T Booster formula.
Nugenix supplement facts
I’ve created the below table to illustrate the Nugenix nutrition facts in a simple manner that everyone can understand. The primary point of this table is to show that the main problem with Nugenix is the dosages are either too small or undisclosed. Check it out:

Nugenix dosage information
The Nugenix dosage is 3 capsules according to the nutrition label. One serving of Nugenix contains a total of roughly 2,100 milligrams, which is pretty weak compared to elite testosterone boosters. Our top ranked options provide between 2,500-3,000 MG per serving.
Nugenix instructions: how to use Nugenix
The Nugenix instructions are very simple and straight forward. You simply take one serving (3 capsules) per day with water on an empty stomach. It doesn’t say when to take it, but in my opinion testosterone supplements are best taken in the morning time.
Nugenix side effects & Nugenix pros and cons
Here are the benefits and side effects of Nugenix testosterone booster.
Benefits of Nugenix: is Nugenix good for you?
There is a wide range of Nugenix benefits users can hope to experience. If it is in fact able to increase free testosterone as it claims, then some of the resulting benefits could include increased lean muscle mass, less body fat, higher sex drive, and improved energy levels.
These benefits of Nugenix all naturally result from higher test levels…the big question is whether or not Nugenix can truly boost testosterone. Also, it’s worth noting that guys with low testosterone (also known as Low T) stand to benefit more from these types of supplements than guys with normal levels of testosterone.
Side effects of Nugenix
Generally with supplements that are comprised entirely of natural ingredients (herbs, minerals, vitamins, etc.), it’s not very likely you will experience any significant side effects. With that being said, some of the potential Nugenix side effects are bloating, upset stomach, nausea, and acne.
Keep in mind, these types of Nugenix testosterone booster side effects would generally only occur if your testosterone levels got too high, which is unlikely in my opinion. Nonetheless, they can be uncomfortable, so just be careful not to take more than the recommended dosage of Nugenix. Another good rule is to avoid taking it on an empty stomach.
Nugenix complaints & praise (Nugenix reviews from real users)
In order to discover what kind of results people were experiencing, we explored some other Nugenix reviews submitted by actual users of the product. For the most part, the customer Nugenix testosterone booster reviews were positive, and users seemed to be pretty happy.
Customer Nugenix testosterone booster reviews
Nugenix side effects and complaints were very limited. Many testosterone boosters can often cause a couple of side effects at the very beginning of the bottle since your body is not yet used to the ingredients, but once you get used to it, those side effects should go away. In this case, the side effects reported were very minimal.
Nugenix ratings from customers
On Amazon, Nugenix has received an average of 3.9 out of 5 stars from users. As of July 2021, there’s about 2,500 Nugenix reviews on Amazon that were submitted by customers who tried the product, and about 70% of those Nugenix testosterone reviews were positive (either a 4 or 5-star rating).
It seems that the people who submitted reviews for Nugenix on Amazon were generally getting some pretty mixed results, but the vast majority of users enjoyed the product. It’s definitely a little discouraging to see that 30% of users gave it a 1-3 star rating, but hey, people respond differently to supplements…what works for one person might not work for another.
Nugenix scam or real?
So, all things considered, is Nugenix a scam or real? Well, the supplement itself is legit. It may not be a very good supplement, but it’s legit nonetheless. The scam is the whole “free sample” gimmick, which usually results in an unexpected charge on your card.
Does Nugenix really work? Our Nugenix free testosterone booster review conclusion
All things considered, Nugenix is a pretty well formulated test booster with a lot of positive consumer feedback, as you’ve seen from our Nugenix test booster review. Positive reviews and good ingredients is a good combination, but does Nugenix really work and is the formula strong enough to be considered one of the best on the market?
As experts, we can’t help but analyze every last detail, and we have some problems with the formula. The fact that it uses a proprietary blend is definitely not good…this means individual dosage sizes for certain ingredients are not disclosed.
Plus, the overall potency of Nugenix is only about 2,100 MG per serving. This may sound like a lot, but if you compare it to our top ranked best test boosters, you’ll see it’s really not a lot.
For example, our #1 ranked booster contains 3,200 MG per serving…that’s over 1,000 MG more nutrients in every serving compared to Nugenix. You can read the review for the #1 ranked booster by clicking below!
Nugenix review FAQs
Is Nugenix safe?
While you should always consult your primary care physician before starting any supplement, Nugenix generally should be safe for most men. It only contains natural herbs and vitamins, so there’s nothing in the bottle that would lead us to believe it could potentially be unsafe.
Does Nugenix cause hair loss?
No, it’s highly unlikely that Nugenix would cause hair loss. It does not contain synthetic testosterone, anabolic steroids, or any other synthetic substances. Since it is all natural, severe side effects such as hair loss are unlikely.
How much is a bottle of Nugenix?
Nugenix is cheapest if you purchase direct from the manufacturer. With that being said, a bottle of Nugenix will cost anywhere between $60-70 depending on where you get it from and how large of a supply you purchase. It’s generally pretty overpriced in my opinion.
Can I buy Nugenix at Walmart?
Yes, you can most likely find Nugenix at Walmart. However, be aware that you will pay a much higher price at a retail store as opposed to simply ordering it online. The prices are always lower online.
Does Nugenix cause liver damage?
To be clear, this is a question that is better suited for your doctor, but it’s pretty unlikely that it would cause liver damage. After all, it’s just vitamins and minerals. I’d be shocked if it caused that severe of a side effect, but again, ask your doctor first!
Is Nugenix legit?
Nugenix is a legitimate supplement, but in my opinion, it is not one of the better testosterone boosters on the market. It’s just another average product with not much to offer. I really don’t like the fact that they hide some of the dosage amounts.
Is Nugenix FDA approved?
No, Nugenix is absolutely not FDA approved. They don’t even fully disclose what is in the supplement since so many of the dosages are hidden in the proprietary blend. Therefore, there is little to no chance they will ever get FDA approval.
