When you get hungry, drink a protein shake instead of eating a meal.

Most people just know they need to be taking whey protein and buy whatever is recommended to them. Nobody ever checks what type of whey protein they are buying. This is a major problem because different types of whey protein can produce different types of results. Some types are not as effective as others.

The majority of protein supplements out there use whey protein concentrate, but this is actually something you may want to avoid. The reason you find whey protein concentrate the most often is because it is much cheaper than whey protein isolate. Bottom Line: While you would save a little money by using whey protein concentrate, you would likely not get anywhere near the same kind of results as you will get with whey protein isolate. It is the purest, most rapidly absorbed form of protein in existence.

How To Pick A Good Protein Powder

It really isn’t as hard as you would think. When searching for a protein powder, simply examine the label before purchasing it. The label always has the protein blend on it. Look at the protein blend, and try to make sure there are not a lot of different types of protein in the blend. Generally, you want there to only be 1 or 2 types of protein in the blend.

The 2 types that you want to see in the blend are whey protein isolate and/or whey protein hydrolysate. If you see any other types, that doesn’t make it a bad whey protein powder…it just simply means it isn’t the best whey protein powder. Anything other than strictly whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate isn’t “bad” but is simply not ideal.

Other things you want to look for are high counts of added BCAAs and added glutamine as well as low counts of things that will cause you to gain fat such as sugar, fat, and sodium.
