Quest Protein Powder Review

Quest Protein Powder is a supplement that derives protein from multiple sources in order to help aid in the growth and recovery of muscles after a workout. There is a vast amount of protein powders available on the market today, and it is our job to make sure you are taking the best protein powder for fast results.  Read this Quest Protein Powder review to learn why it’s NOT ranked as one of our top 10 best Protein Powder Supplements.

Quest Protein Benefits

Here are the primary Quest Protein benefits:

  • High protein to calorie ratio
  • Great taste
  • No cholesterol
  • Inexpensive

What Is Quest Protein Powder?

Quest Protein Powder is a flavored supplement powder comprised of protein from multiple sources to help improve the results of your workout. When taken on a daily basis, it has the potential to help increase the size of your muscles as well as decrease the amount of recovery time you need in between workouts.

How Does Quest Protein Powder Work?

Quest Protein Powder works similarly to other products by allowing your body the opportunity to digest a more readily available of protein than from a natural food source. This increases the rate of absorption of protein in your body allowing your muscles to receive the fuel they need to grow properly in an adequate amount of time.

When reviewing protein powders, we like to see the consistent use of one or two top tier sources, instead of blends that are dirtied with many different types of protein sources. Quest Protein Powder uses Whey Protein Isolate, Micellar Casein, and Milk Protein Isolate. While this list is not too extensive and whey protein isolate (a top quality source of protein) is first on the list, we would still prefer to see it with only the first two ingredients to have the purest blend possible.

Quest Protein Powder Ingredients

The primary Quest Protein Powder ingredients are:

  • Whey protein isolate
  • Micellar casein
  • Milk protein isolate
  • Branched chain amino acids

Protein Blend

Quest Protein Powder uses a blend of Whey Protein Isolate, Micellar Casein, and Milk Protein Isolate in order to help give your body a readily available source of protein right after a workout. These are all proper sources of protein, but the fewer ingredients we see, the purer the source of protein. We like to see pure sources of protein because it makes it easier for your body to digest and convert in a quicker time period. This can help your muscles get the energy they need to grow and also help you recover from your soreness the next day.

Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs)

BCAAs are extremely important for muscle growth and recovery. They amplify the amount of time it takes for your body to digest the proper nutrients and amino acids you need for healthy muscle growth. Being sore can take a huge toll on your routine, and BCAAs can help decrease the recovery time you need to get you back to the weight room quicker.

BCAAs stand for Branched Chain Amino Acids, and the top BCAAs added in protein powders are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. This product lacks additional BCAAs, so if you choose to go with it, make sure you are taking them independently for all the amino acids you need.

Quest Protein Powder Reviews

When we originally did this review a couple years ago, Quest Protein Powder was relatively new and there were not too many user reviews available. Now that it has been out for a couple years and received a lot of feedback, we decided to add this section. Let’s examine the 5,000 Quest Protein Powder reviews that have been submitted on Amazon…

It received an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars across 5,000+ reviews, which is very good. Additionally, 69% of users rated it 5 strs in their reviews, which is a pretty impressive mark. I can understand why people like this stuff…it’s cheap, it tastes good, and it’s easy to use.

However, despite the information we found in the Quest Protein Powder reviews, I stand by my position that it is NOT an elite protein powder based these simple facts: it does not contain whey protein hydrolysate, it only offers 20 G of protein per serving (5 less than industry standard), and it only offers 24 servings per jar (6 less than industry standard).

The Pros

  • Decreased recovery time
  • Increased muscle growth
  • Low calories
  • Great user reviews

The Cons

  • High sodium
  • No additional BCAAs
  • Low amount of protein
  • Small jar
  • Not an ideal protein blend

Is Quest Protein Powder Worth It? Our Conclusion

Overall, Quest Protein Powder had a really good taste for its surprisingly low number of calories and cholesterol. However, it contains a pretty excess amount of sodium, no additional BCAA’s to amplify your recovery time, a small amount of protein per serving, only 24 servings per jar, and zero whey protein hydrolysate.
