Benefits of Lean Body Protein

  • Helps you build lean muscle
  • A lot of protein
  • Zero sugar

What Is Lean Body Protein?

Lean Body Protein is a ready to drink protein shake that strives to get you all the protein you need for muscle building and quick recovery. This protein shake utilizes 40 grams of protein to help you lose fat, tone muscle and curb hunger. It is also loaded with 22 different vitamins and minerals and additional fiber to help promote a healthy digestive track. Lean Body Protein comes in eight different flavors for the picky drinker, and is conveniently packaged for on the road fueling needs.

How Does Lean Body Protein Work?

Lean Body Protein works by using a specific protein blend that can help your body easily digest the necessary nutrients it needs for ample muscle growth and recovery. The amino acids included in these proteins help keep you energized and boosts your body’s ability to lift more weight and keep in top form.

Lean Body Protein Ingredients

Whey Protein Blend

The protein blend in Lean Body Protein is pretty extensive including milk protein isolate, fast acting whey protein peptides, Slow acting casein peptides, whey protein concentrate, and calcium caseinate. While having more sources of protein might seem like a good thing, we can assure you that it is not.

Finding GOOD sources of protein is crucial, and the best sources of protein you can get are whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate. While this blend includes some forms of whey protein, the other ingredients just dirty the blend.

The reason brands dirty their blends with other forms of protein is to make it more cost effective. While this does not necessarily mean the protein does not work, it definitely makes it more difficult for your body to digest and decreases the efficiency you are looking to maximize.

While it does not seem to be blatantly advertised, this protein blend does contain some BCAAs. They are mentioned in the ingredient list, but are probably not included in significant quantities.

Proteins naturally have branched chained amino acids (BCAAs) but adding more BCAA to your blend can exponentially improve the results of your workout. When a blend or drink lacks BCAAs you should make an effort to try to supplement them independently, at the same time as your actual protein blend.

Nutritional Information

In one serving of Lean Body Protein, you can expect to find:

  • Calories: 280
  • Total Fat: 9g
  • Cholesterol: 25mg
  • Sodium: 600mg
  • Potassium: 600mg
  • Carbohydrates: 9g
  • Protein: 40g

To put it plain and simple, this is not one of the healthier protein shakes we have reviewed. It might be fine if you are actually using it as a meal replacement, but drinking this gives you a pretty high amount of sodium in one serving.

One plus side to Lean Body Protein is that it includes one of the highest servings of protein we have seen. If only that protein came from much fewer, higher quality sources, we might have recommended it as one of our favorite protein powders.

Pros of Lean Body Protein

  • Loaded with vitamins and minerals
  • No lactose
  • Gluten free

Cons of Lean Body Protein

  • High sodium
  • No additional BCAAs
  • Does not have the cleanest protein blend

Lean Body Protein Conclusion

The bottom line is that Lean Body Protein has a ton of protein, but not all of it is sourced from the highest quality ingredients. We like protein blends to have high quality sources of protein, and as few of them as possible to provide you with the cleanest blend you can find.
