Isotope is a product designed to help make sure athletes are getting all the protein and nutrients they need during a workout. How Does Isotope Work?

Isotope works by utilizing a blend of protein that consists of 100% Whey protein isolate. All protein powders typically work the same way, but the ingredients they use usually differ. The goal is to use a source of protein that is easy to digest and loaded with amino acids and nutrients that are key for muscle growth and recovery.

Protein Blend: The actual protein blend is definitely the most important part of any protein powder supplement. While some people might not know exactly what to look for, the choice you make can heavily impact the rate at which you see results from your time spent in the gym. The best source of protein you can expect to find, is known as whey protein.

Whey protein is derived from dairy and actually comes in three different varieties. These varieties include whey protein hydrolysate (study), whey protein isolate, and whey protein concentrate. The order of the three variants of whey protein are listed from best to worst.  The protein blend in Isotope is made up of purely whey protein isolate, which is the second best version of whey protein.

Branched Chained Amino Acids: Branched chained amino acids are shorter amino acid chains than the ones you normally find in proteins. There are three branched chained amino acids, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine. These three amino acids work together to help provide you with an increased level of energy, as well as a reduced recovery time.

Luckily, these branched chained amino acids naturally occur in high quality protein sources, like whey protein hydrolysate and whey protein isolate. However, some people choose to supplement additional branched chained amino acids during a workout, for a low calorie way to boost their energy levels.

These are somewhat average nutrition facts for a protein powder at this price point. We are always looking for fat, cholesterol, and carbs to be closer to zero, while the calories should ideally be as low as 100 per serving.

Isotope is a great protein powder, but the simple fact is that being a great protein powder isn’t enough to get you ranked in the top 10. To make the top 10, the product needs to use purely whey protein isolate or hydrolysate, AND have an extremely clean nutritional profile.
