Xtreme Shock Review

Xtreme Shock is a pre-workout supplement that was made to help give you the energy and focus you need to optimize your performance during your workouts. All of the companies who create these supplements claim theirs is the best of its kind, but only a few of the supplements have the formula to back the claim. The truth can always be found on the nutrition label. Read this Xtreme Shock review to learn why we didn’t rank it as one of our Top 10 Best Pre Workout Supplements of 2018.

Just because it’s in GNC doesn’t mean its great. Our top list has all the major ones, some are available in stores, some on the manufacturer’s website. Your body will thank and reward you.

Benefits of Xtreme Shock

These are the most commonly reported benefits of supplementing with Xtreme Shock:

  • More energy during your workout
  • Enhanced focus and concentration
  • Increased endurance
  • Better strength and power

What Is Xtreme Shock?

Xtreme Shock is a pre-workout supplement by the company Advanced Nutrient Science International. They claim their pre-workout gives you an unrivaled amount of energy, focus, power, and endurance, for a maximum intensity workout guaranteed to provide you with results.

Pre-workout supplements, like any other type of supplements, are all about the formula. It’s important to make sure your pre workout contains the clinically proven nutrients that make up a top notch formula. Additionally, you need to check that the dosages are large enough, otherwise, the ingredient may not affect you as significantly.

In the case of Xtreme Shock, we found that the formula was simply missing far too many vital nutrients. It’s a solid supplement, but it’s not one that we’d ever recommend unless the formula was revamped.

Xtreme Shock comes in the following flavors: Blue Razz, Mountain Burst, and Fruit Punch.

How Does Xtreme Shock Work?

Xtreme Shock works by using ingredients like amino acids, compounds, stimulants, and nootropic herbs to give you the energy and concentration you need to get a good workout. This only occurs when the supplement utilizes a formula with the proper ingredients, like beta alanine for increased endurance, nitric oxide boosters for an increased pump, and branched chained amino acids for a reduced recovery time.

Based on the ingredients that are missing here, we don’t believe the list of benefits is very long. Without branched chain amino acids or Betaine Anhydrous, we simply don’t feel comfortable recommending it.

Xtreme Shock Ingredients

The following ingredients can all be found in one serving of Xtreme Shock: L-Citrulline, Beta Alanine, Agmatine Sulfate, L-Norvaline, Caffeine Anhydrous, Alpha GPC, Higenamine HCL, Hordenine HCL, Theobromine, Rauwolscine, Huperzine A and Lean GBB.

L-Citrulline: This amino acid becomes L-Arginine when digested. L-Arginine is the precursor of a compound known as nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is released by the lining of your blood vessels in order to help increase your blood vessels. They are called vasodilators because they dilate the width of your blood vessels to allow for more blood flow. This is important because it allows muscles to get the oxygen and nutrients they need at a quicker rate.

Beta Alanine: Lactic acid build up is what happens when you create microtears in your muscles. This is part of the reason you feel sore during and after a workout. Beta-alanine acts as a buffer for lactic acid so you don’t feel the burning sensation as much.

L-Norvaline: This amino acid is responsible for improving your circulation. It does so by helping increase nitric oxide, which is a powerful vasodilating compound that widens your blood vessels to increase the rate of blood flow.

Caffeine Anhydrous: This stimulant can help increase your focus and boost your performance. While it can have some negative side effects, they are usually never serious. Even just ingesting coffee to get additional caffeine can serve as a huge boost to performance (study).

Alpha GPC: This is a nootropic ingredient that can help boost your focus and also provide help with muscle control. It increases the amount of acetylcholine in your brain, a powerful neurotransmitter in control of muscle movement and learning.

Stacking Pre Workout With Protein Powder

If you are working out, you probably have some sort of goal set in your mind that you would like to accomplish. Whether that goal is to have a rock hard six pack, or just stay healthy and fit, utilizing a pre-workout supplement combined with a protein powder can help make sure your body is getting exactly what it needs, when it needs it.

While pre-workout supplements can help make sure you are putting in as much work as possible in the gym, protein powders can help make sure that your body is healing effectively and efficiently, even after the workout is over and the pre-workout has worn off. You break your muscles down in the gym…that’s the whole point of weight training. However, when you get home, you need to build them back up, and that’s what people use protein powder for.

To find out what protein powders are the most effective, view our list of the Top Ten Best Protein Powder Supplements of 2018.

The Pros

  • Includes Alpha GPC
  • Solid nootropic blend overall
  • Excellent nitric oxide boosting component

The Cons

  • Received negative user feedback
  • Does not contain branched chain amino acids (BCAAs)
  • Missing Betaine Anhydrous

Xtreme Shock Conclusion

Xtreme Shock is great for focus and energy boost, but it doesn’t really contain anything that can help improve your muscular endurance or strength. The top-notch pre-workout powders include BCAAs to boost your endurance and Betaine Anhydrous to boost your output. We simply don’t see a formula worth recommending here.
