The ingredients they selected for this new formula are top notch, including L Citrulline, Beta Alanine, Betaine Anhydrous, Nitrosigine, and Taurine. It contains nitric oxide boosters, strength enhancers, and just the right amount of stimulants.

This one is particularly intense due to its use of extremely large dosages of very powerful ingredients. If you can’t handle an intense pre-workout, you might want to avoid this one.
With that being said, it contains awesome performance-enhancing nutrients such as L-Citrulline, Betaine Anhydrous, Beta Alanine, and plenty of BCAAs. Branched chain amino acids are a must if you’re looking to improve your strength and endurance, but they are arguably even more important for muscle recovery.
Either way, this formula beats out the vast majority of the pre-workout supplements on the market with its tremendous overall potency of about 18,000 milligrams per serving. That’s right, 18,000. We said it once, and we’ll say it again…this stuff is powerful.

Project-1 was created by a newly popular company called 1st Phorm. This 1st Phorm pre-workout is extremely potent, and they certainly didn’t skimp any of the dosages. If you want a huge pump, you need a big nitric oxide boost. Well, with 6,000 milligrams of Citrulline Malate, this stuff delivers.
People who choose to supplement creatine into their regimen will be happy to know that this pre-workout actually contains 5 grams of creatine monohydrate, which is the exact amount you should be taking on a daily basis if you want to use creatine (by the way, if you don’t use creatine, you may want to start).
There’s no shortage of top-notch pump inducers or performance enhancers, and you can be sure to maintain laser focus levels with 350 milligrams of caffeine anhydrous in every serving. Project-1 is definitely the real deal guys.

#4 Pre Jym
Pre Jym is one of the most popular pre-workout supplements on the market, and based on the nutrition label, there’s definitely good reason for that. With 6 grams of Citrulline Malate and 6 grams of BCAAs, it’s no wonder people are loving this stuff.
Citrulline spikes your nitric oxide levels, thereby improving your pump. BCAAs prevent muscle fatigue, which improves your muscular endurance and overall performance. This is an excellent combination…throw 2 grams of Creatine Hydrochloride into the mix, and you have yourself a killer pre-workout.
Despite most of the formula being pretty impressive, we found some of the dosages to be rather low, which is ultimately what lead us to rank Pre Jym a little lower than some of the other pre-workout supplements on this list. If they hadn’t under-dosed a couple of important nutrients, this pre-workout would’ve had a real shot at ranking top 2 or top 3.

Pulse was created by a company called Legion. We love Pulse mainly because of the fact that Legion chose to target dosage amounts that have been clinically proven to be effective. For example, they dosed Beta-Alanine at 4.8 grams per serving, which is about twice the standard dosage.
A good nitric oxide booster is one of the most important parts of any pre-workout supplement because it’s what creates your pump, and Citrulline is the best N.O. booster there is. Pulse has the biggest dosage of Citrulline we have ever seen at 8 grams per serving, which is probably our favorite feature of this product.
With that being said, there are only 5 active ingredients in Pulse, and none of them are BCAAs. We believe BCAAs are a vital part of any pre-workout supplement, which is why this product didn’t rank higher on this list.

Mesomorph is a pre-workout supplement by APS Nutrition that has grown increasingly popular over the last few months. People are loving this stuff, and we can’t lie, it’s pretty darn good. The formula includes something they call their Carnisine Nitric Oxide Complex, which includes nutrients like Citrulline, Arginine, and Beta Alanine, making this a very impressive complex.
Additionally, Mesomorph includes a significant amount of creatine, which is always a plus in our book. However, we don’t like the fact that it contains multiple forms of creatine instead of relying on one source, which we have found to be a more effective method of creatine supplementation.
The bigger problem with this supplement actually lies in the fact that it uses proprietary blends, which means we don’t know the exact dosages for each ingredient. With that being said, Mesomorph is overall still easily one of the best pre-workout supplements.

ENGN by EVL Nutrition can make for a great addition to your supplement stack, as its definitely one of the best pre-workout supplements we’ve tried. It consists mostly of Creatine, Beta Alanine, and Betaine Anhydrous, which are three of the most efficient pre-workout ingredients you can use.
The dosages are overall pretty solid, but we did find that some of them were slightly lacking. Additionally, ENGN utilizes multiple sources of creatine as opposed to sticking to just one, which is a tactic that we are not particularly fond of. It’s always best to stick with one form of creatine.
Although the proprietary blend contains excellent ingredients, it’s still a proprietary blend, which means we don’t know the dosages of said ingredients. Lastly, it does not contain BCAAs, which we see as an issue…but, it’s still a very good product overall.

Nitraflex by Gat Supplements is another one of our favorites. It’s very unique in that it includes an ingredient no other supplement can use since it appears Gat has patented the ingredient. They call it their Clinically Studied Testosterone-Enhancing Complex, and whatever it is has people who use Nitraflex feeling pretty good.
The rest of the formula is not very transparent due to the use of proprietary blends. We can’t be sure what size the dosages are, but we do know that the ingredients are high quality. With that being said, it does not contain BCAAs. Overall, this product is better than most, but we wouldn’t consider it top notch.

Neurocore is a pre-workout supplement that you’ve probably already heard of since it can be found in many retail stores, including Walgreens and CVS. It’s very easy to find, and the marketing makes it sound like an excellent supplement, but this particular product sort of comes with a catch.
You see, if you use 2 scoops, you get sufficient dosages of some very high-quality ingredients. The problem is that if you only use one scoop, the product becomes only half as effective. Therefore, we recommend using 2 scoops, BUT, this means that you really are only getting 15 servings instead of 30 servings like it says on the bottle. It’s a great product, but $44 for 15 servings? We’ll pass.

#10 Mr. Hyde
Mr Hyde is a pre-workout supplement that we used to actually rank in our top 5, but now that so many new supplements have emerged throughout 2017, it has actually become a rather average product, comparatively speaking.
It contains a healthy dosage of the all-important Beta Alanine and a thousand grams of Creatine Nitrate, but the only other significant dosages on the label are that of Caffeine Anhydrous and Choline Bitartrate.
Back when there weren’t a whole lot of super elite pre-workouts on the market, this formula got the job done, but now, it simply can’t compete with some of the other products out there in our opinion. We believe it’s simply missing too many key ingredients, but it definitely still deserves a spot on this top 10 list.

As you can see, our reviews are mostly based on expert nutrition label analysis, which means our conclusions are based on science rather than speculation. Although there were some excellent supplements in the running, we chose Pre Train 2.0 as our #1 ranked supp for a reason.
