Hydra Charge Review

Hydra Charge is a pre-workout supplement designed to improve the quality of your workouts and help you achieve your fitness goals a little faster. However, we would never recommend this supplement due to the fact that it lacks just about every pre-workout nutrient we consider vital. This is because they chose to take a more unique approach to pre-workout, but we simply aren’t fans of this approach. Yes, we might be haters and you might love this, so do the reading and form your own opinion. As per usual, we aren’t always perfect in opinions, but we are pretty darn close!

Read this Hydra Charge review to learn more about why it’s not one of our Top 10 Best Pre Workout Supplements of 2018.

Benefits of Hydra Charge

The benefits of using Hydra Charge before your workouts may include:

  • Enhanced focus
  • Increase in energy
  • Reduced chance of fatigue during your workout

What Is Hydra Charge?

Hydra Charge is a pre-workout supplement by the company Kaged Muscle. It has the potential to provide athletes and gym goers a way to more efficiently utilize their time spent exercising. The ingredients are designed to help increase your energy levels, boost your performance, and improve your focus levels.

However, there’s not much here in the way of standard pre-workout ingredients. Typically, pre-workout supplements include endurance enhancers and pump inducers like Citrulline, Arginine, Beta Alanine, Betaine Anhydrous, and many others. We don’t see any of these ingredients on the label, which is why we don’t recommend this supplement.

With that being said, some people may find their unique take on pre-workout enticing…it’s just not for us. The formula mostly utilizes fruit and vegetable extracts, which we don’t see as being all that effective.

Hydra Charge comes in the following flavors: Fruit Punch, Orange Mango, and Apple Limeade.

How Does Hydra Charge Work?

Hydra Charge works by using taurine, and a proprietary blend of many different vegetables, fruit, and herb extracts. As we mentioned before, this is not the traditional approach to formulating a pre-workout powder. We don’t believe it’s anywhere near as effective as using the traditional pre-workout ingredients, but there’s definitely still some benefits to consuming large amounts of fruit and vegetable extracts.

Hydra Charge Ingredients

The following ingredients are present in Hydra Charge: Taurine, Green Coffe Extract, Green Tea Extract, Broccoli Sprout Concentrate, Onion Extract, Apple Extract, Acerola Extract, Camu Camu Concentrate, Quercetin, Tomato Concentrate, Broccoli Concentrate, Acai Concentrate, Basil Concentrate, Cinamon Concentrate, Garlic Concentrate, Oregano Concentrate, Turmeric Extract, Carrot Concentrate, Elderberry Concentrate, Mangosteen Concentrate, Blackberry Concentrate, Blackcurrant Extract, Blueberry Extract, Chokeberry concentrate, Raspberry concentrate, Sweet Cherry Concentrate, Spinach Concentrate, Kale Concentrate, Bilberry Extract, and Brussel Sprout concentrate.

Taurine: Taurine is an amino acid that is commonly found in energy drinks. It offers benefits that help keep your heart healthy by acting as an antioxidant, and also can help stimulate muscles to bring out optimum performance. Taurine also shows promising results for heart health (study).

Green Coffee Extract: Green coffee extract has been used as a way to help people lose weight, and also provide your body with caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant that can help boost your energy levels, increase your motivation and also boost your performance (study).

Green Tea Extract: Green tea is a very popular drink that can provide many health benefits. The two main active ingredients in green tea are L-Theanine and Caffeine. The natural combination of these ingredients provides the body with a great way to help increase your energy levels, and also counteract the negative side effects of caffeine. L-Theanine does this by relaxing the body, so you can avoid the jitters and crash that often come with taking caffeine.

Stacking Pre Workout With Protein Powder

The combination of pre-workout and protein powder can help drastically increase the quality of your workout as well as reduce your recovery time. Pre-workout allows you to increase muscle breakdown in the gym, which is ultimately the entire purpose of going to the gym…however, what’s the point of breaking them down if you don’t plan on building them back up?

That’s where protein powder comes in. Once your muscles are sore and nutrient-deprived after your workout, it becomes the perfect time to deliver a dose of protein in order to induce proper growth and recovery. The higher quality the protein source is, the larger your muscles are able to build themselves back up.

The Pros

  • Contains plenty of healthy fruits and vegetables
  • Includes green tea extract, which can function as a fat burner

The Cons

  • Missing almost all of the traditional pre-workout ingredients
  • Doesn’t contain nitric oxide boosters
  • Super weak formula compared to the top tier pre-workouts on the market today

Hydra Charge Conclusion

The makers of Hydra Charge decided to substitute fruit and vegetable extracts for traditional pre-workout ingredients, which is a tactic we find regrettable. While getting the benefits of fruits and vegetables is definitely good for your body, it’s not necessarily a good approach to enhancing your performance in the gym (at least not in our opinion).
