C4 Extreme Review | One of the Best of 2018
If you are in the market for a pre-workout supplement, you’ve found the right website. While we have a number of supplement review focuses, we truly love the pre-workout vertical. More and more people are realizing that in order to truly achieve maximum muscle gains, they really need to take a pre-workout supplement, even if that’s just a dietary change that occurs before the gym. In the end, supplements aren’t the end all, but they are the most convenient method.
C4 Extreme is a pre-workout supplement by the company Cellucor that was created to enhance your performance in the gym. This is a new and improved version of their extremely popular original C4 pre-workout. Read this C4 Extreme Review to find out why even though it’s better than the original C4 pre-workout, we still don’t recommend it as one of our Top 10 Best Pre Workout Supplements of 2018.
Benefits of C4 Extreme
The following are benefits you may experience form taking C4 Extreme…
- Extremely high energy levels
- Boost in endurance
- Increased focus
- Better pump and blood flow
- Enhanced nutrient retention
What Is C4 Extreme?
C4 Extreme is shockingly similar to the original C4 pre-workout. It’s basically the exact same formula but with double the dosage of caffeine and double the dosage of Beta Alanine. Now, the fact the dosages of these two ingredients were enlarged definitely makes this a better pre-workout supplement than the original C4.
With that being said, it’s still not all that great of a pre-workout. It’s missing several key ingredients that you will see in most other pre-workouts, and the dosages of some of the main key ingredients are simply too small. Is it an improvement from the original C4? Definitely! But is it a supplement we would recommend…still no.
C4 Extreme comes in the following flavors: Cherry Limeade, Icy Blue Razz, Strawberry Kiwi, and Lemon Drop.
How Does C4 Extreme Work?
C4 Extreme works by using ingredients that can both help boost your energy and your concentration. This is an important combination because losing focus during a workout can make you more prone to injury and also waste a lot of your time. You do your best work in the gym when you are able to dial in on specific muscle groups and perform each exercise efficiently.
In addition to this, it should be your goal to perform till your muscles are completely broken down. You can better reach that goal by taking a pre-workout supplement that contains ingredients for boosting muscular endurance and stamina, such as Betaine Anhydrous, Valine, Leucine, and Isoleucine. However, C4 Extreme actually contains none of the ingredients we just listed, which is one of the main reasons we don’t recommend it.
C4 Extreme Ingredients
The following ingredients are all present in C4 Extreme: Beta Alanine, Creatine Nitrate, Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate, L-Tyrosine, Caffeine anhydrous, Velvet Bean, Theacrine, Rauwolfia Vomitoria, Huperzine A.
Beta Alanine: This is a buffer for lactic acid that can ensure you push yourself a little bit further in the weight room. It prevents muscle fatigue during your workout, which means you’re able to perform for longer periods of time and break down your muscle fibers much more effectively.
Creatine Nitrate: Creatine is a molecule found in meat and naturally in your body. It can help boost your energy levels and strength by hydrating your muscle cells. Many weight lifters utilize creatine because of the fact that is increases water retention in your muscles dramatically. Increased water retention leads to a whole bunch of benefits for a weight lifter and ultimately produces faster muscle growth.
Arginine: L-Arginine is an amino acid that is responsible for increasing the levels of nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide is a compound that dilates your blood vessels to increase your circulation. Blood flow is crucial for healthy muscle operating. It can help make sure your muscles are getting the oxygen and nutrients they need to do well during a workout.
L-Tyrosine: This amino acid boosts mental and physical performance to make sure you are able to perform at your peak potential during a workout. It does so by boosting the neurotransmitters responsible for these functions. These neurotransmitters are dopamine and norepinephrine.
Caffeine Anhydrous: Caffeine anhydrous is the most popular stimulant in the world and can boost your physical, mental performance, and also keep you focused. Negative side effects are common, but often not very severe.
Stacking Pre Workout With Protein Powder
While pre-workout supplements help provide your muscles with key nutrients in the gym, protein supplements provide your muscles with nutrients outside of the gym in order to ensure proper recovery and growth.
Pre-workout supplements allow you to perform to the best of your ability, but when your workout is over with, your body needs to heal. Protein powder gives your muscles a hefty dose of nutrient-rich protein as well as branched chain amino acids in order to help your muscle fibers recover and build themselves back up bigger than they were before.

C4 Extreme Conclusion
C4 Extreme is certainly an improved version of the original C4 pre workout, which is a supplement we don’t like at all. While it’s for sure an improvement, it’s still simply not that great of a supplement overall in our opinion. We don’t recommend any pre workout supplements that lack branched chain amino acids.
