Superbeets by HumanN is essentially a highly concentrated beet powder that is marketed as a superfood supplement. Technically, you could call Superbeets a superfood supplement because beets are a super food…however, it’s a little deceiving because generally superfood powders contain 5-10 different superfoods or more. In this Superbeets review, we’ll explain why we do NOT recommend this product.
Now, I’m not bashing Superbeets…this is a great supplement if what you’re looking for is beet powder, but be aware that that’s all it is. I would not classify this as a superfood supplement or a superfood powder because the only active ingredient is beet powder.
If you’re just interested in a supplement with beet powder, then this could be a good fit for you…but if you want a real powerhouse superfood powder that contains beet powder in addition to 10 or more other proven superfoods, I’d suggest checking out our top 10 best SUPERFOOD POWDERS.
Superbeets review by a Certified Nutrition Coach: Is Superbeets any good?
Sure, Superbeets is a decent product for what it is, which is just beet powder. However, it’s nowhere near as nutritious or beneficial as a complete superfood powder. As a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, I would never recommend this product to any of my clients because I just don’t see any reason why someone would want to supplement with beet powder on its own when they can take a comprehensive supplement that contains several other superfoods, including beet powder.
My Superbeets Results And Personal Experience
I like to base the majority of my review for any supplement on the Supplement Facts Panel. Why? Because the label doesn’t lie! They are called “supplement facts” for a reason. However, as a Nutrition Coach, I have found that my clients find it very helpful when I am able to tell them about my personal experience with a product as opposed to just my analysis of the nutrition facts. For that reason, I often personally test products before writing reviews. I tried Superbeets, and here’s what happened…
I purchased a 30 day supply of Superbeets to see if it would produce any health benefits for me despite the fact that it only contains one ingredient (beets). Personally, I only noticed one benefit, and it only lasted for a week before my body grew a tolerance to the supplement. The first week I was taking Superbeets, I was getting better workouts in the gym as a result of having higher nitric oxide levels.
This is a result I was pretty happy with since I am an avid weight lifter. Higher nitric oxide levels leads to noticeably better blood flow, which leads to a better workout. However, Superbeets stopped having this effect on me after only a week of using it. There’s a very simple explanation for why that is…the whole formula is reliant upon one ingredient. This does not happen with comprehensive multi-ingredient formulas, which is why I never recommend supplements that rely on only one ingredient.
Bottom Line: I was very disappointed with Superbeets after taking it for 30 days and would never recommend this supplement to my clients based on my negative personal experience combined with my analysis of the SFP (supplement facts panel).
What does Superbeets do?
What does Superbeets do for you? Superbeets is primarily designed to boost nitric oxide and improve blood circulation. These are pretty reasonable benefits to expect when supplementing with beet root powder, but the label doesn’t even say how much beet root powder is in here, so there’s no way for us to know if the dosage is large enough. Additionally, as I said before, I do have personal experience with the product and can say it did essentially nothing for me.
What About Superbeets Chews?
If you’ve heard about Superbeets, you have probably also already heard about the “Chews” version of their product. It can be confusing to see a superfood supplement come in multiple forms, but the most confusing form in my opinion is chews because they wreak havoc on your digestive system. If you’re wondering what Superbeets Chews do, let me save you the headache and tell you they don’t do anything other than cause gastrointestinal distress in my personal opinion.
As a Nutrition Coach, I often get asked about superfood supplements like this one, and many people want to know specifically about capsules and chews. Here is the short answer: powders are ALWAYS better than capsules or chews. In the case of this particular supplement, I do not even recommend the powder, but it’s a good rule of thumb in general to avoid capsules and chews because your body can not digest them as well as pure powders.
Bottom Line: Superbeets Chews are a HUGE no-go in my professional opinion as a Certified Nutrition Coach, and I would never in a million years recommend ANY superfood supplement that comes in the form of chews. By the way, yes I have personally tried the Superbeets chews, and they taste absolutely horrific…I almost threw up.
What are the best Superbeets flavors? Choose from this list:
Superbeets comes in two flavors: apple and blackcherry. When I tried it, I personally went with the natural black cherry flavor instead of the natural apple flavor, which tasted pretty bad. It’s important to note that the product does contain sugar and stevia, which is not good. These ingredients are used to enhance flavor, but most superfood powders do not contain sugar or stevia for obvious reasons (they’re both very unhealthy). Regardless, the two best flavors (in order) are:
- Natural Apple Flavor
- Natural Blackcherry Flavor

Here are all of the Superbeets ingredients (yes, there is only one ingredient in the whole supplement):
Beet Root Powder
Non-GMO Beetroot Powder may be the only active ingredient Superbeets contains, but it’s an extremely powerful ingredient, which is why I haven’t written this supplement off all together. The primary purpose of beet powder is to increase nitric oxide levels, and it appears to get the job done very effectively when properly dosed.
According to the Superbeets website, each dosage contains the equivalent to three full beets worth of nitric oxide, which is a very healthy dosage. Increasing nitric oxide levels is important because it has a significant effect on heart health, blood circulation and pressure, and oxygen delivery efficiency. Simple beetroot juice has been known to produce these benefits as well.
For me, if my main goal was to boost nitric oxide levels, I’d be looking at some Arginine and Citrulline based nitric oxide boosters, but I can certainly see the appeal of utilizing a superfood such as beet powder or beetroot juice to accomplish that goal. With that being said, there is a more in depth look below at how beets and specially beetroot juice can produce health benefits.
A Deep Dive Into Beets
In the world of nutrition, certain foods stand out for their exceptional health benefits, and beets are undoubtedly one such superstar. These vibrant root vegetables, known for their deep purple hue, pack a powerful nutritional punch that goes beyond their earthy flavor. From supporting heart health to enhancing athletic performance, beets offer several health benefits that make them a valuable addition to a balanced diet.
Blood Pressure
Beets are most well known for their potential to help lower blood pressure, and this effect is often attributed to the high nitrate content in beets and beetroot juice. Here’s how beetroot juice supplements may contribute to lower blood pressure:
- Nitrate Conversion to Nitric Oxide: Beets are rich in dietary nitrates. When you consume beets, these nitrates are converted into nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide is a signaling molecule that helps relax and dilate blood vessels, leading to increased blood flow, which can lead to lower blood pressure.
- Vasodilation: Nitric oxide promotes vasodilation, which means the blood vessels widen. This dilation allows blood to flow more easily, lowering the blood pressure against the vessel walls. So again, as a result of vasodilation, lower blood pressure tends to occur.
- Improved Endothelial Function: Nitric oxide also supports the proper functioning of the endothelium, the inner lining of blood vessels. A healthy endothelium is essential in order to achieve lower blood pressure and can help prevent the development of cardiovascular diseases in some cases.
- Antioxidant Properties: Beetroot juice contains antioxidants, such as betalains and betaine, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. These properties may contribute to overall cardiovascular health, helping to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, which in turn can lead to lower blood pressure.
To incorporate beets into your diet for potential lower blood pressure benefits, consider:
- Fresh Beets: Add roasted or steamed beets to salads or as a side dish.
- Beetroot Juice: Drink beetroot juice as a standalone beverage or mix it with other vegetable juices. Beet juice is significantly more potent than beets on their own. This is because beet juice is easier for your body to digest and absorb, so you get more benefits from beet juice than just eating beets alone.
- Beet Smoothies: Blend beets or beet juice into smoothies with other fruits and vegetables.
- Beetroot Powder Supplements: Consider beetroot powder or beetroot powder supplements, which provide a concentrated source of beet nitrates.
Important note: Beets and/or beetroot powder supplements are NOT meant to be a replacement for blood pressure medication. You should always consult your primary health care physician before taking a beet root supplement such as Superbeets. Additionally, always make sure to exercise regularly when taking any health supplement…it’s not going to do all of the work for you on its own!
Rich in Essential Nutrients
Beets are a nutritional powerhouse, containing a diverse array of essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. They are a good source of folate, manganese, potassium, and vitamin C. Folate is crucial for cell division and DNA synthesis, while manganese plays a role in bone health. Additionally, potassium supports heart health by regulating blood pressure, and vitamin C boosts the immune system. As you can see, there are many naturally occurring essential nutrients in beets.
Heart Health
One of the standout benefits of beets is their positive impact on heart health. The high levels of nitrates found in beets can help dilate blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure is a key factor in preventing cardiovascular diseases, making beets a heart-healthy choice. Incorporating beetroot into your diet may contribute to a healthier cardiovascular system and can improve circulation. A healthier heart requires something that can help improve circulation. While beetroot powder may help improve circulation, you should always consult your doctor if you have circulation issues.
Athletic Performance
Athletes and fitness enthusiasts can benefit from the natural performance-enhancing properties of beets. The nitrates in beets are converted into nitric oxide in the body, which can enhance oxygen utilization during exercise. This increased oxygen efficiency may lead to improved endurance and delayed fatigue, making beets a natural and legal performance booster.
Anti Inflammatory Benefits
Chronic inflammation is linked to various health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Beets contain betalains, which have anti-inflammatory properties. These compounds may help reduce inflammation in the body, potentially lowering the risk of chronic diseases and promoting overall well-being.
Detoxification
Beets are rich in antioxidants and fiber, which play a role in supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes. The betalains in beets help neutralize toxins and support liver function. Including beets in your diet can aid in the elimination of waste and promote a healthy detoxification system.
Cognitive Effects
The nitrates in beets not only benefit cardiovascular health but also have positive effects on brain function. Nitric oxide helps dilate blood vessels, increasing blood flow to the brain. This improved blood circulation may enhance cognitive function and contribute to better overall brain health, potentially reducing the risk of age-related cognitive decline.
Bottom Line
Incorporating beets into your diet is a simple and delicious way to boost your overall health. Whether you’re looking to support your heart, enhance athletic performance, lower blood pressure, improve your immune system, or reduce inflammation, the nutritional profile of beets makes them a versatile and valuable addition to any balanced eating plan. So, next time you’re at the grocery store, don’t overlook these humble roots – your body will thank you for making beets a regular part of your diet.
Superbeets pros and cons
Here are the benefits and side effects of Superbeets.
Superbeets benefits
There is a pretty narrow range of Superbeets health benefits for users to experience since it only contains one ingredient. This is the primary reason why we recommend complete superfood supplements over single-ingredient supplements like this one. In short, more superfoods means more benefits.
With that said, beets are a pretty powerful superfood, so naturally, beet powder can be a good supplement. Like I mentioned before, I believe beet powder supplementation is much more effective as part of a comprehensive superfood formula rather than being used on its own, but you can certainly still get benefits from using it by itself.
Here is a brief list of reported Superbeets benefits you may experience…
- Improve circulation
- Lower blood pressure
- Boosts nitric oxide levels
- Delivers 3 whole beets worth of nutrients per serving
- Does not contain caffeine or added stimulants
Superbeets side effects
It’s not very common for users to experience side effects when it comes to Superbeets, or any superfood supplement for that matter, simply because these supplements strictly contain organic fruit and vegetable extracts. You don’t experience side effects when you eat vegetables, so you would not get side effects from consuming vegetable powders either.
With that said, the product is designed to optimize blood flow, which can give some people headaches. Some users of nitric oxide booster supplements specifically have reported headaches, but outside of that, there’s not much to expect here in the way of side effects in our opinion.
Other Superbeets cons
The worst part about the product is the fact that it only contains one ingredient. How is it supposed to compete with other superfood powder supplements that contain 5, 10, and even as high as 20 total superfood ingredients? Plus, many of these supplements also include beet powder, so you still wouldn’t be missing out on beet powder if you chose a better, more complete supplement.
Last but not least, the product is pretty severely overpriced in our opinion. You’re essentially paying $40 for 30 servings worth of beets. Each serving contains three beets worth of beet powder. It’s just not worth the price if you ask me.
Superbeets complaints & praise (info from other Superbeets reviews we found)
Let’s talk about what actual users of the product have had to say about their experiences with it. Luckily, this product is listed in Amazon, which means we have access to a plethora of Superbeets reviews submitted by verified users of the product.
Keep in mind the fact that Amazon only allows for verified buyers and users of the product to submit reviews for it, and because of that, they are one of the most trusted sources for real user reviews.
There are over 7,000 Superbeets reviews on Amazon, and the average rating the product received is 4.1 out of 5 stars. That’s a fairly impressive statistic. If a product generates thousands of reviews and still manages to hold an average above 4 stars, that’s a pretty good sign.
At the time of writing, 58% of user reviews on Amazon contain 5-star ratings, which is another fairly impressive statistic. The only problem I see here is that about 30% of people rated it 3 stars or less, which is a little discouraging. With that being said, the majority of the customer reviews are positive, so I still believe the data available here bodes well for the product overall.
Are there any Superbeets coupon codes or promo discount vouchers?
Unfortunately, there are currently no available Superbeets coupon codes. Additionally, the product is pretty severely overpriced in our opinion based on the fact that it only contains one single ingredient. The combination of it being overpriced and not offering any discounts makes the product even less attractive than it already was.
Is Superbeets worth it? Our Superbeets review conclusion
At the end of the day, Superbeets just is not worth it. It only contains one active ingredient, there’s only a couple of benefits to be had, and you pay a pretty hefty price tag for it. There’s just not a lot of value, and it’s a pretty weak supplement compared to some of the top shelf superfood powders on the market.
