Gundry MD Vital Reds is a superfood supplement with a specific focus on Berry superfoods, hence the product title being Vital Reds. Superfood supplements usually focus on greens, and Gundry MD does have a greens supplement, but this one is for people interested primarily in reds.
In this Gundry MD Vital Reds review, we will break down the formula and examine whether or not this supplement is worth it. Personally, I love the concept of a superfood supplement that focuses specifically on reds as opposed to greens.
Some people prefer a berry focused supplement over a vegetable focused supplement, and Vital Reds was made for those people. The problem is the total overall potency of superfoods per serving is a pitiful 2,000 milligrams per serving…that’s an extremely weak formula.
We don’t recommend Vital Reds because its ridiculously weak, but there is a Berry & Reds focused supplement that we DO recommend called Total Living Drink Berry. You can learn more here: Best Superfood Powders Comparison.
Gundry MD Vital Reds review 2022: Is Vital Reds any good?
Gundry MD Vital Reds is probably the worst berry focused superfood supplement I have ever personally reviewed. In every serving, you’re only getting a total of about 2,000 milligrams worth of superfoods. That amount is extremely low. Allow me to explain exactly how low that number is.
Our top recommended Berry and Reds focused product provides 15,000 milligrams worth of organic Berries and other fruits in every serving. Yes, 15 THOUSAND. That means it is literally more than 7 times as potent as Vital Reds. Learn more about our top recommendation here: Total Living Drink Berry.
What does Gundry MD Vital Reds do?
What does Vital Reds do for you? Well, it provides a small serving of berries and other powerful fruits that are designed to help boost immunity, detoxify your body, and help boost energy levels. The problem is that, as we mentioned earlier, the serving is extremely small.
There’s a big difference between what it does and what it is designed to do because of the fact that the overall potency is so low. We don’t see Vital Reds as being able to accomplish much for you despite the long list of claims being made on the Gundry MD website.
Gundry MD Vital Reds ingredients list
Here are the primary Vital Reds ingredients:
- Carrot
- Apple
- Grape
- Flax seed
- Acai
- Beet root
- Blackberry
- Cranberry
- Mango
- Papaya
- Pomegranate
- Raspberry
- Strawberry
- Fructo-oligosaccharides
Polyphenol Blend
The primary and most important blend in the supplement is called the Polyphenol Blend. This is the blend that contains all the key nutrients and accounts for the majority of the overall potency at 1,760 milligrams per serving.
The polyphenol blend includes a long list of various fruits and berries including strawberry, blackberry, cranbebrry, raspberry, apple, grape, and the list goes on. It’s great that the list of reds is long, but the total size of the blend is WAY too small to produce benefits in our opinion.
Again, for perspective, we are talking about less than 2,000 milligrams worth of reds per serving here versus our top recommended Reds supplement which contains 15,000 milligrams worth of reds, fruits, and berries per serving…no contest.
Metabolic Enhancing Blend
If you thought the Polyphenol Blend was weak…well, you’re still right, but this one is even worse. The overall potency of this blend is 365 milligrams per serving. So, there’s really not much to talk about here because that small of a dosage simply can’t produce benefits in my opinion.
With that said, the ingredients this blend includes are cinnamon bark, green tea leaf, white tea leaf, ginger root, turmeric root, bitter melon fruit, and black pepper fruit. Again, these are all very high quality ingredients, but it doesn’t matter because the size of the blend is so tiny.
Digestive Support Blend
It’s at least nice to see that they included probiotics in the formula to improve digestion. The digestive support blend consists of 3 billion CFU worth of probiotics, which is a pretty decent dosage. Probiotics are very important because they help ensure proper digestion and absorption of other key nutrients.
Gundry MD Vital Reds dosage: How much Vital Reds should you take & when?
According to the label, you should take Vital Reds once daily. It does not specify what time of day to take it, but we generally recommend taking superfood supplements in the morning so that you can reap the benefits throughout the day.
In terms of the dosage, you just take one scoop and mix it in with some water or your favorite juice. And as we have discussed in this review, the dosage is only 3.7 grams total per serving, so it’s a pretty small serving size.
Gundry MD Vital Reds pros and cons
Here are the benefits and side effects of Gundry MD Vital Reds.
Gundry MD Vital Reds Benefits
Despite the fact that the ingredients are under dosed and the formula is overall very weak, it’s possible that you could still experience some Vital Reds benefits. As a result of the polyphenols, you may get detoxifying and energy boosting benefits.
There’s a reason this section of the review is so short…we just don’t see a whole lot of potential benefits for users to experience. With regard to any supplement, it doesn’t matter how good the ingredients are if they are not sufficiently dosed.
Gundry MD Vital Reds Side Effects
It’s very unlikely that there would be any Vital Reds side effects since the formula just consists of berries and other fruits. The only scenario we can really see Vital Reds producing side effects is if the user has an allergy to one of the ingredients. You should consult your doctor before trying any supplement.
Other Gundry MD Vital Reds Cons
The most important of the Gundy MD Vital Reds cons is the simple fact that it is way too under dosed to work in our opinion. If there is one point we want you to take away from this review, it’s that the overall potency is severely lacking compared to other Reds and Berry focused supplements.
2,000 milligrams worth of Reds is just not enough to get the job done. For perspective, our top recommended Reds supplement (Total Living Drink Berry) contains 15,000 milligrams worth of berries and fruits per serving. That is 7 times the dosage that Vital Reds provides…let that sink in.
Gundry MD Vital Reds complaints & praise (info from real Vital Reds customer reviews)
We believe the Supplement Facts Panel (SFP) speaks for itself. The product isn’t potent enough to work based on our analysis of the SFP, but we still value the opinions of customers who have tried the product. We will take a look at some Gundry MD Vital Reds reviews we found on Amazon in this section.
There are a total of about 1,200 Gundry MD Vital Reds reviews on Amazon submitted by verified customers. Vital Reds achieved an average rating of 4.4 stars out of 5. That’s pretty good, especially since there’s a solid sample size of over 1,200 ratings.
With that said, over 15% of the Vital Reds reviews are negative reviews, so it’s clear that many people are not getting good results with the product. Still, the majority of customers are giving the product good ratings, which is a good sign. We just still can’t recommend the product comfortably because the potency is so absurdly low.
Is Gundry MD Vital Reds good or bad? Our conclusion
As you must know by now, Gundry MD Vital Reds is not a very good supplement at all in our view. The reviews show that some people are clearly enjoying it, but we can not get past the fact that the formula is so weak compared to the more top shelf Reds supplements on the market.
