1st Phorm Opti Reds 50 is a superfood powder with a formula primarily focused on Reds, which is essentially just an industry term for “fruits” or “fruit extracts.” Green superfood powders (these consists predominantly of vegetable fruit extracts) have become very popular due to how insanely nutritious and beneficial they are, so naturally, supplement companies like 1st Phorm started making Red superfood powders. These supplements are amazing, but in this Opti Reds 50 review, I’m going to explain why I do NOT recommend this particular product.
Red superfood powder supplements can produce tremendous health benefits, and I actually take one myself every morning for that reason. They are superb for your immune system, gut health, brain health, digestive health, and more. However, as always, it’s important to make sure you pick a high quality one if you want to see some truly life changing benefits. 1st Phorm Opti Reds 50 Review 2022: Is Opti Reds 50 any good?
In short, Opti Reds 50 is not a good supplement due primarily to a severe lack of potency and and weak superfood profile compared to competing Reds supplements. In every serving, you are only getting 8,000 milligrams worth of nutrients per serving. That may sound like a lot, and I’m not saying that there are no Opti Reds 50 benefits to be had whatsoever, but allow me to put the potency level into perspective for you…
As a Certified Nutrition Coach with a wide base of clients, I get a lot of people asking me for superfood powder recommendations. The one I recommend in terms of a Reds supplement is called Total Living Drink Berry. That supplement provides over 15,000 milligrams worth of nutrients per serving, which makes it nearly TWICE as potent as Opti Reds 50. Plus, it only costs $10 more…so you are getting twice the amount of superfoods for basically the same price.
I don’t like to use the terms scam or rip-off, but they do come to mind here. This supplement is just way overpriced and does not provide enough superfoods for the user to truly experience noticeable health benefits, which is ultimately why I do not recommend it. My advice is to steer clear, and check out the Total Living Drink…that’s the one I drink every morning.
What does Opti Reds 50 do?
1st Phorm Opti Reds 50 is designed to help increase your intake of fruits via the use of fruit extracts. Reds powders essentially consist of fruits and other superfoods that have been powderized, which allows the user to consume a whole lot more superfoods than one would be able to by eating fruits and superfoods whole…you’d need to eat a boatload of fruit to get as many nutrients as you get with a high quality Reds powder.
However, there’s a reason I italicized the words “high quality” there. This is not by any means a high quality supplement in my view, which means I do not believe it can produce the benefits it is designed to produce. It should contain at least 50% more superfoods, and ideally more like 100% more. The superfood blend just is not potent enough to produce any real results.
Reds supplements can produce amazing benefits with regard to immune health, digestive health, gut health, and more, but the bottom line here is that I do NOT believe Opti Reds 50 is capable of producing those benefits because the formula is too weak. So, if a client where to ask me the question “what does Opti Reds 50 do?” I would probably answer with one word: nothing.
Opti Reds 50 Ingredients List
Here are the primary 1st Phorm Opti Reds 50 ingredients:
- Beet extract
- Sweet potato
- Cabbage
- Amaranth
- Buckwheat
- Millet
- Quinoa
- Chia
- Apple fiber
- Green tea extract
- Broccoli sprout
- Turmeric
- Elderberry
- Raspberry
Cardio Health Blend
The Cardio Health Blend contains three total ingredients: Beet extract, Sweet potato, and Cabbage. The overall potency of this blend is about 6,200 milligrams per serving. Don’t forget the fact that the overall potency of the whole supplement is 8,000 MG per serving…that means that this blend accounts for about 80% of the entire formula.
In other words, what you are getting with Opti Reds 50 is basically one big blend of beets, sweet potato, and cabbage…that’s a really big problem. You get large dosages of these three ingredients, which is good, but it means that you are getting super tiny dosages of every other ingredient in the formula. In essence, these three ingredients are sufficiently dosed, but every other ingredient in the formula is severely under dosed…hopefully at this point, you can start to see why I don’t recommend it.
Digestive Aid Blend
The Digestive Aid Blend contains a total of 7 ingredients and has a total potency of only 940 milligrams per serving…yikes. The ingredients it includes are AncienTrim, Amaranth, Buckwheat, Millet, Quinoa, Chia, and Apple Fiber. These are all excellent, very high quality ingredients. However, the dosages combine for a total of only 940 milligrams, which means every one of these ingredients is severely under dosed…see the problem here?
PhytoPhorm Antioxidant Complex
The PhytoPhorm Antioxidant Complex consists of a whopping 41 ingredients…sounds impressive right? Don’t get too excited. The total overall potency of this blend is only 1,058 milligrams per serving…BIG yikes. The individual dosages for each ingredient are not disclosed, but if we are to assume that they are dosed equally, that would mean each one is being dosed at about 25 milligrams per serving. That is a MASSIVE problem. Big red flag.
1st Phorm Opti Reds 50 Pros and Cons
Here are the health benefits and side effects of Opti Reds 50.
Opti Reds 50 Benefits
Opti Reds 50 may be a sub par supplement at best, but there are likely still some minor health benefits you could experience as a result of the large dosages of sweet potato, beet, and cabbage. But again, keep in mind these are the only three ingredients that are sufficiently dosed, so these are the only ingredients you can reasonably expect to experience health benefits from.
With that said, beet root extract has been shown to boost nitric oxide production, which can help with heart health, blood flow, sexual health, and immune health. Sweet potato and cabbage are both great for improving digestion and gastrointestinal health. So, you could potentially experience some health benefits, but nowhere near the benefits you would get from a legit, top shelf, highly potent Reds powder.
Opti Reds 50 Side Effects
The Opti Reds 50 formula consists entirely of natural fruits and vegetables, and/or fruit and vegetable extracts. Therefore, it’s highly unlikely that there would be any Opti Reds 50 side effects. Natural fruits and vegetables just don’t cause side effects…it’s really that simple. That is, unless you have an allergy to any of the ingredients in the formula, in which case you should avoid this product all together.
Other Opti Reds 50 Cons
Here is the biggest of all the Opti Reds 50 cons: the overall potency is far too low. It really is as simple as that. 8,000 milligrams per serving simply is not enough to produce the digestive health, immune health, and gut health benefits you are seeking. On top of the low overall potency, if we break down the 8,000 milligrams, we find that 80% of it is concentrated into just three ingredients, as I mentioned before…that is a massive issue.
Here’s a list of the cons for simplicity’s sake:
- Low overall potency
- Low dosages of almost every ingredient
- Superfood blend lacks potency
- Only 3 ingredients account for the vast majority of the formula
1st Phorm Opti Reds 50 Conclusion
Bottom Line: Opti Reds 50 severely lacks potency, under doses the vast majority of the ingredients it contains, and ultimately under delivers at pretty much every turn. We do NOT recommend this supplement, and would strongly urge you to avoid it. With that being said, there are some truly excellent Reds powders out there that you should definitely check out. Superfood powder supplements are amazing…just not this one.
For those interested, there is a Greens version of this product called Opti Greens 50. I have written an in depth review for Opti Greens 50 as well. Spoiler alert: it’s just as bad as this product. Opti Greens and Reds are both very bad products in my opinion. However, if you want to read the review, feel free to check it out here: Opti Greens 50 Review.
