In this article, we’re going to compare two of the most popular superfood supplements on the market: Balance of Nature vs Texas Superfood. First and foremost, it’s important to understand why these two supplements are so popular.

The reason so many people want to choose Balance of Nature or Texas Superfood as opposed to other superfood supplements is because both of these products come in the form of capsules as opposed to the traditional powder form.

People don’t like the taste of the powder, so they want capsules. However, choosing capsules is a HUGE mistake because the capsules can not fit anywhere near enough superfoods per serving. Read on to learn more, or click here to learn about some superior options: Best Superfood Powders.

What is the difference between Balance of Nature and Texas Superfood?

The difference between Balance of Nature and Texas Superfood is actually pretty negligible. Both supplements severely lack potency when it comes to the amount of superfoods per serving you’re getting, which is why we don’t recommend either one.

They both provide about 4,000 milligrams of superfoods in every serving, which is incredibly low. To put that into perspective, top recommended superfood supplements provide between 10,000-15,000 milligrams per serving.

The key difference here comes down to really just one thing: Texas Superfood contains probiotics and digestive enzymes, while Balance of Nature does not contain either of these elements.

Texas Superfood

1. Balance of Nature vs Texas Superfood pricing

Texas Superfood has a major advantage here. At $59.95, it’s almost half the price of Balance of Nature. That’s a pretty significant advantage in terms of value, especially considering the fact that Texas Superfood is actually the better supplement.

Balance of Nature costs just under $100 per bottle, which is a complete rip off considering the fact that it only provides 4,000 MG of superfoods per serving with no probiotics or digestive enzymes. To be honest, neither of these supplements are worth the money.

2. Balance of Nature or Texas Superfood for flavor?

This is where consumers perceive these supplements to have an advantage over other superfood supplements…flavor is not a factor. They both come in the form of capsules as opposed to the traditional powder form, which means you don’t have to taste the superfoods.

With flavor not being a factor with regard to either supplement, this question is pretty much null and void. However, I will reiterate once again that capsules come with an enormous disadvantage, which is a major lack of potency. Plus, the flavor of greens powders is pretty easy to mask with juice and/or smoothies.

3. Probiotics

Probiotics are important because they provide a wide array of benefits ranging from improvements in digestion, immunity, gastrointestinal health, and even brain function. This is an easy comparison because Texas Superfood contains probiotics and Balance of Nature does not contain any at all.

However, Texas Superfood does not disclose the dosage of probiotics it contains, so we’re not sure if it’s significant enough to produce benefits.

4. Superfoods per serving (SFPS)

This area is almost an exact tie, with both Texas Superfood and Balance of Nature providing about 4,000 milligrams worth of superfoods per serving. The SFPS amounts are the biggest issue with both of these supplements and the main reason why we do not recommend either one.

4,000 milligrams is simply way too low of a dosage with regard to SFPS. So, while neither product has an advantage over the other in this area, we can at least pretty confidently say neither of them provide anywhere near enough superfoods as they should.

5. Digestive enzymes

There again is really no comparison to make here as Texas Superfood has another easy win. Texas Superfood contains an undisclosed amount of digestive enzymes, and Balance of Nature does not contain any at all.

So, the news is bad with regard to both supplements, but at least Texas Superfood has digestive enzymes in the formula.

6. Protein

Here’s another area where both supplements are severely lacking. Neither Texas Superfood or Balance of Nature contains a single gram of protein. So again, there’s not much to talk about here other than the fact that both supplements are very disappointing in this area.

Protein (especially the vegan protein derived from superfoods) can be extremely beneficial with regard to digestion and meal replacement. Superfood supplements with high protein counts (10 grams or more) can serve as effective meal replacements and therefore help with weight loss.

Texas Superfood vs Balance of Nature ingredients comparison

We’ve already compared these formulas with regard to their most important components, but in this section, we’ll take a deeper dive into the actual superfoods themselves. We will examine the superfood profile of both supplements and see which has better ingredients. Let’s dive in!

Common ingredients

Wheat Grass

Wheat Grass is loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols, which makes it an extremely potent and beneficial superfood. Wheat grass primarily benefits your digestive health, but it could also produce a wide array of other benefits with regard to detoxification and potentially weight loss.

Both Texas Superfood and Balance of Nature contain wheat grass, which is good news. The bad news is that neither supplement discloses how much of the ingredient they contain. Therefore, we can’t really compare the dosage sizes or determine which one provides more wheat grass.

Broccoli is an ingredient that needs no explanation. Everyone knows how many benefits broccoli can produce, but nobody wants to eat it. The good news is that it’s very easy to get the nutrients broccoli has to offer without having to eat it simply by consuming it via a superfood supplement.

Balance of Nature and Texas Superfood both contain broccoli, which is good to see. This is really a no brainer ingredient that all greens supplements should contain. However, we again are left with the issue that neither supplement discloses the dosage, so we don’t know who has the advantage.

Spinach is a powerful superfood, but just like broccoli, nobody wants to eat it because it tastes horrible. These bad tasting but nutritious vegetables are a big reason why superfood supplements have become so popular. Everyone wants to reap the benefits without having to eat the food.

Well, with both Texas Superfood and Balance of Nature, you can reap the benefits that spinach has to offer. The only problem is…can you guess? They don’t disclose the dosage amounts, so we don’t know which one provides a larger amount of spinach.

Ingredients exclusive to Balance of Nature

Cabbage is obviously a well known superfood, but for whatever reason, Texas Superfood chose to exclude it from the formula. Cabbage can be very beneficial when it comes to digestion and immunity, so we’d like to see it in both formulas. This is one area where Balance of Nature has an advantage.

Balance of Nature is the only supplement of the two that contains Banana. Overall, Balance of Nature probably has Texas Superfood beat when it comes to fruits specifically, and their inclusion of banana is no exception.

Sure, it’s not the most powerful or the most exciting superfood, but it contains a ton of potassium. A significant dosage of banana can provide your body with a lot of potassium, which is an extremely important electrolyte that you do not want to be deficient in.

Ingredients exclusive to Texas Superfood

Spirulina is widely accepted in the industry as the most powerful superfood on the market. The fact that Balance of Nature does not contain it is truly a shame. All superfood supplements should contain a significant dosage of this powerful ingredient.

Spirulina is known to contain tons of beneficial polyphenols and antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol, and boost immunity. We don’t know how much of it Texas Superfood contains, but they do list it as their most predominant ingredient, which is good.

The only ingredient other than Spirulina that could be argued as the most powerful superfood is Chlorella. Chlorella has been shown to produce amazing benefits with regard to digestion, cholesterol, immunity, and much more.

Again, it’s truly a shame that Balance of Nature lacks this ingredient. It’s certainly a good thing to see it in the Texas Superfood formula, but the problem is we don’t know the dosage. It’s listed as the 4th most predominant ingredient, which is a good sign.

Which is better, Texas Superfood or Balance of Nature? Our conclusion

These are two very similar supplements, but at the end of the day, we think it’s clear that Texas Superfood has the advantage. It contains a better selection of superfoods as well as probiotics and digestive enzymes, which Balance of Nature does not contain.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that we do not recommend either one of these products due to severe lack of potency and transparency. They both contain very low amounts of superfoods per serving, and neither company is very transparent with their formulas…they don’t disclose dosage amounts.
