Balance of Nature Review: Is This Fruits & Veggies Powder Worth It? (My Results)

by Joe Costello, CNC | Green Drinks & Superfood Drinks

Balance of nature fruits and veggies bottlesBalance of Nature Fruits and Veggies can technically be classified as a superfood supplement, but there are a few things about it that make it different from your average greens powder. In this Balance of Nature review, I will explain why I do NOT recommend it to my clients as a Certified Nutrition Coach.

The first major quality that separates Balance of Nature from other greens powders is one that many perceive to be a good thing, but in reality, it’s a bad thing. Since it comes in capsules, people believe Balance of Nature is more convenient.

While that may be true, the extremely significant drawdown is that the use of capsules makes it significantly less potent than its competitors. It’s as simple as the fact that capsules can not fit as many superfoods, fruit and vegetables, etc as regular greens powders can. The convenience of the capsules is simply not worth it. You can see our top greens powder picks here: TOP GREENS SUPPLEMENTS.

Balance of Nature Review by a Certified Nutrition Coach: Is Balance of Nature any good?

In short, we don’t think Balance of Nature is any good at all and would never recommend it to our readers. The biggest problem here is the fact that the total overall potency in terms of superfoods plus fruits and vegetables is only about 5,000 milligrams per serving. If that sounds like a lot to you, you need to have a look at the formulas of our top recommended options. To put it into perspective, our #1 ranked superfood supplement provides 15,000 milligrams of superfoods per serving.

That means our top recommended option is 3 times as potent as Balance of Nature. So, despite the fact that these capsules are more convenient to use, you can see how the severe lack of potency is a major issue. They call it “Fruits and Veggies,” but there is actually barely any fruits and vegetables in here at all.

The whole point of the supplement is to provide your body with fruits and vegetables, as well as other nutrients that ultimately serve to replace the need for fruits and veggies in your diet. So, the fact that it contains an abysmal amount of fruits, veggies, and superfoods is very significant.

This makes a lot of people ask me…well what if I just take double or triple the dosage to make up for the lack of potency? Sure, you could do that, but you paid for a 30 day supply. Therefore, if you are double or triple dosing, you are turning your 30 day supply into a 15 day supply or less…you are ripping yourself off by doing that.

You can start to really see how badly you’re getting ripped off when you take all of this into consideration. People who say that they just take multiple dosages every day to make up for the lack of potency are essentially saying that they are willing to pay double the cost. At that point, why not just choose a better supplement?

As a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC), I feel obligated to tell you this is one of the worst superfood supplements I have ever evaluated. I do NOT recommend this supplement and would personally never take it in a million years. As a general rule of thumb, I would never recommend anything to my readers that I wouldn’t personally take myself.

I would strongly urge you to check out some of our top ranked superfood supplements that can serve as significantly more effective Balance of Nature alternatives. Personally, I actually take the TOTAL LIVING DRINK every morning mixed with orange juice to make it taste better, and I strongly recommend it. It has produced tremendous benefits for me with regard to immune health, digestive health, gut health, mental health, and so much more. I just feel great all around.

Just to further prove my point, here is what a Balance of Nature dosage looks like next to a dosage of the Total Living Drink:

My Personal Experience And Results With Balance of Nature

So far, this review has been focused on my evaluation of the Supplement Facts Panel (SFP). All of that information is very valuable and certainly worth taking into account…BUT, since I am a Certified Nutrition Coach, I went the extra mile and actually tried this stuff myself so that you guys wouldn’t have to. I don’t feel completely comfortable recommending or not recommending a supplement to my clients unless I have actually tried it myself, so I did, and here’s what happened…

I took Balance of Nature for 30 days (both the fruits and veggies jars). With green powder supplements, it’s important to take the full 30 day supply because sometimes it can take a couple of weeks for results to kick in. With that being said, usually you start to notice results pretty quickly IF it is a high quality potent greens supplement. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Balance of Nature since it does not contain enough fruits and vegetables (or superfoods, etc), and I experienced no benefits whatsoever as a result.

Balance of Nature quite literally did nothing for me. I took it exactly as directed for a full 30 days and got no results whatsoever, which was very upsetting. I was expecting some benefits related to gut health, digestion, immune health, etc…you know, the kind of benefits you’d expect from a good superfood supplement. However, my expectations were dashed. About the only effect I felt was an upset stomach for the first week or so of taking the supplement.

The bottom line here is that as a Certified Nutrition Coach, I would never in a million years recommend this product to any of my clients based on the negative personal experience and lack of results I had with taking the Balance of Nature fruits and veggies product. Obviously, everyone is different, and I’m not saying it won’t work for anyone. I’m just saying I had a terrible personal experience and that combined with my evaluation of the formula is the reason I will NEVER recommend this product to anyone.

What does Balance of Nature do?

What does Balance of Nature do for you? Well, superfood supplements in general are designed to help replace fruits and vegetables in your diet, boost immunity, increase energy levels, improve digestion, detoxify your body, and a whole lot more.

However, these benefits can only be experienced if the product is capable of producing them, which is why we don’t recommend Balance of Nature. In our view, it’s simply not strong enough to produce real results.

So, I suppose the short answer to the question “what does Balance of Nature do for you,” is…probably nothing. The dosages are just way too low to actually produce noticeable benefits. However, the really high quality supplements such as our #1 ranked Total Living Drink contain as much as three times more fruits and vegetables in every serving, which means they are three times as likely to produce significant benefits for you.

What Company Makes The Balance of Nature Products?

The Balance of Nature products are created and produced by the company called Balance of Nature, Inc. This company is known for its whole food, plant based dietary supplement health products, which are designed to provide a concentrated source of fruits and vegetables in capsule or powder form. The founders of Balance of Nature are Dr. Douglas Howard and his wife, Kristin Howard. Dr. Douglas Howard is a chiropractic physician who, along with his wife, developed the Balance of Nature whole food health products.

According to the founders, the goal of Balance of Nature is to offer a convenient and effective way for individuals to increase their intake of essential nutrients from a variety of fruits and vegetables, supporting overall health and well-being. Can their fruit and vegetable supplements actually accomplish that goal? In my personal opinion, absolutely not.

Balance of Nature offers a range of whole food, plant based dietary supplements. Please note that product offerings can change, and it’s advisable to visit the official Balance of Nature website or contact the company directly for the most up-to-date information on their product lineup. The main Balance of Nature products are:

  1. Balance of Nature Fruits: A supplement containing a variety of dried and powdered fruits, aiming to provide essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants from fruits like apples, oranges, berries, and more.
  2. Balance of Nature Veggies: This supplement is designed to offer the nutritional benefits of various vegetables in a concentrated form. It typically includes vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, spinach, and others.
  3. Balance of Nature Fiber Spice: The Fiber Spice product focuses on providing additional fiber and nutritional support. It often contains a blend of soluble and insoluble fiber, along with spices for added flavor. In my opinion, Fiber Spice product is perhaps the worst of all the Balance of Nature products. There just really isn’t much in here other than, well, Fiber and Spice.

Additionally, they have something called the Whole Health System, which is basically just these three products combined. The Balance of Nature “Whole Health System” refers to the combination of Balance of Nature’s core supplements: Balance of Nature Fruits, Balance of Nature Veggies, and Balance of Nature Fiber Spice. To me, the Whole Health System thing just looks like a gimmick to get you to buy all of their products. Based on my analysis of the formulas, even if you combine all three of these, you really are not getting very many nutrients in my opinion. I would advise caution before buying into the “whole health system” marketing ploy.

Balance of Nature ingredients list

Here are the primary active Balance of Nature Fruits and Veggies ingredients:

Balance of nature ingredients and supplement facts

Balance of Nature Fruits Blend

We are going to break down the supplement facts label in its entirety, and we will go very in depth to show you exactly how weak this product is. First, we’ll break down the fruits blend. The formula in its entirety contains Aloe Vera, Apple, Banana, Blueberry, Cherry, Cranberry, Grape, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mango, Orange, Papaya, Pineapple, Raspberry, Strawberry, and Tomato.

I know what you’re thinking…wow, that’s a long list of impressive ingredients! Well, yes it is, but there’s an enormous problem. They’re all contained within a proprietary blend, which means we don’t know the dosages for any of these ingredients.

Worse yet, the proprietary blend is very small at only 2,400 milligrams per serving. This blend should realistically be about three times the size in order for it to have any real potential.

Balance of Nature Veggies Blend

Second, let’s break down the veggies formula. The veggies blend in its entirety includes Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, Cayenne Pepper, Celery, Garlic, Kale, Onion, Shitake Mushroom, Spinach, Wheat Grass, Yam, Psyllium Husk, and Zucchini.

Again, it looks like a very long list of impressive ingredients at first glance. However, the same problems are present in this blend as are present in the blend of fruits. The total dosage per serving is only 2,400 milligrams per serving.

So, when you tally everything up, you’re only getting less than 5,000 milligrams of superfoods per serving. As a reminder, the top recommendation provides 15,000 milligrams per serving, making it three times as potent.

Balance of Nature Vitamin Content

One of the key benefits of using a superfood supplement is that the vitamin content is extremely high. The reason for that is because these supplements are primarily composed of fresh produce, vegetables, fruits, and other superfoods that naturally contain a lot of vitamins, which is great for your immune system.

So, when you’re taking a superfood supplement, you no longer need to take a multivitamin due to the high vitamin content you’re already getting with your green drink supplement. HOWEVER…this product in particular has a very weak vegetable blend AND a very weak food blend, as I stated before. Therefore, the vitamin content is nowhere near as high as it would be if you were to choose a higher quality, more potent supplement.

Balance of Nature dosage: How much Balance of Nature should you take & when?

Balance of nature fruits and veggies green drink powderAccording to the label, the serving size is 3 capsules, and you are supposed to take one serving per day. This is the appeal of the supplement for a lot of people. They want to take capsules instead of consuming actual superfood powder.

But again, the problem is that you can only fit so many fruits and vegetables into three little capsules, which means Balance of Nature Fruit And Veggies severely lacks potency and under delivers with every serving. In terms of when to take it, superfood supplements should generally be taken in the morning.

Can I increase the dosage for better results?

You could theoretically take twice the recommended serving size, and it would probably produce better results. However, there is a major problem with this strategy. You paid for a 30 day supply right? Well, If you are taking double the serving size every day, now you have a 15 day supply.

In other words, people think they can get around the lack of potency by doubling down on serving size, but in reality, all this does is cause you to run out of product twice as fast. That means you have to buy more of the product twice as often. Therefore, it has no value.

Why wouldn’t you just instead buy a supplement that provides enough nutrients in one serving? That way, you don’t have to worry about manipulating the dosage, paying twice the price, or having to re stock on product as often. You get what you pay for people! The more expensive greens powder supplements are more expensive for a reason…they actually work and provide value.

Balance of Nature pros and cons

Here are the benefits and side effects of Balance of Nature.

Balance of Nature benefits

Skinny woman measuring her stomach for weight lossSome of the benefits of taking the many superfoods that Balance of Nature contains may include improvements related to immune system function, digestion, energy, detoxification, gut health, gastrointestinal function, brain function, and more. However, these benefits can only be experienced when the nutrients are provided in high enough dosages, which is NOT the case here.

Despite their misleading tv commercials, this product really does not have much to offer in the way of health benefits. While we believe the supplement is not potent enough to produce any significant or noticeable benefits, superfoods and greens in general are certainly capable of producing amazing health benefits when properly dosed. A quality superfood supplement also generally can serve as high quality fiber supplement as well, which can help curb appetite and improve your chances at weight loss.

If weight loss is your goal, we would strongly recommend checking out our top ranked greens powder called Total Living Drink. Why? Because it has an exceptionally high fiber content as well as over 10 grams of vegan pea protein, which means it can serve as a meal replacement supplement. Therefore, your chances at losing weight become significantly higher because you are consuming less low quality food that causes weight gain, and more nutrient-dense superfoods, which aid weight loss.

Balance of Nature side effects

My balance of nature fruits and veggies reviewIt’s very unlikely for users to experience side effects when taking Balance of Nature. It’s really pretty simple when you think about it. All the supplement contains are powdered whole food products and other fruit and vegetable powders. It’s quite literally just fruit capsules and vegetable capsules. Why would whole foods, fruits, and vegetables cause side effects? The answer is that they wouldn’t, so you shouldn’t expect to experience side effects when taking this greens powder.

Some people do report that they have trouble digesting or processing capsules, which is not uncommon. However, this product uses non gmo veggie capsules. Veggie capsules are generally much easier on your stomach, so you don’t have much to worry about there. If you respond negatively even to veggie capsules, then you should probably avoid this product.

The only potential side effect some people may experience is some minor stomach discomfort as a result of your body getting used to the nutrients. Outside of that, side effects are generally not reported. In my opinion, the biggest complaint you would have with this supplement is simple…it just doesn’t work.

I will note one thing you should always look out for, which is this: what country is the supplement manufactured in? You do NOT want to buy anything that is not manufactured in the United States. Balance of Nature’s fruit and vegetable powders are manufactured in the United States, so there’s nothing to worry about there…that’s about the only positive thing I have to say about this company.

Other Balance of Nature Cons

The point that we keep trying to drive home throughout this review is that the biggest con lies in the lack of potency. Most superfood supplements come in the form of greens powder that you mix in with juice or water (by the way, I personally recommend apple juice or orange juice).

It’s simple: a scoop of greens powder contains a LOT more nutrients than can fit in a three capsules. So, capsules may sound appealing, but the reality is that they are the problem because they limit potency. If you are scared of taking greens powder due to the taste, just mix it in with some juice or a morning smoothie. Juice almost completely masks the taste.

Balance of Nature also does NOT contain probiotics, which is a huge problem for me. Every single superfood supplement on the market should contain probiotics in order to allow the user of the supplement to properly digest and absorb the superfoods. It’s a real shame to see that there is no probiotic blend whatsoever. In general, Balance of Nature products are just low quality in my opinion.

Balance of Nature complaints and praise (info from real Balance of Nature reviews)

There are about 2,500 Balance of Nature reviews from customers on Amazon. In this section, we are going to break down some data from these reviews to help us reach a conclusion.

Balance of Nature received an average rating of 4.4 out of 5, which is pretty solid. It seems that people are generally happy with the product. Some people even rated it 5 stars, which I find very shocking seeing as how the product is so nutritionally weak. However, 20% of customers left negative reviews, citing complaints about the product not working…now that sounds more accurate.

The negative reviews and horrifyingly disparaging Balance of Nature testimonials (some people really really hate this product and were not afraid to say so) are discouraging, but the product still has predominantly positive reviews, so we’re not overly concerned with this data. Since the supplement is so weak, it may be helpful to combine it with a diet such as the whole health system, but this would be something you would need to take up with your doctor.

Here is a personal review from a YouTube creator named Antoinette Nora. This video has over 72,000 views and is very insightful. She discusses her personal experience with Balance of Nature supplements in depth, which is something that can be very helpful for people considering buying the product.

Is Balance of Nature good or bad? Our Conclusion

If you’ve read through this whole review, you can probably already guess how we feel about the Fruits And Veggies Balance of Nature supplements. We don’t believe this product is even close to being worth it. The overall potency is way too low to produce benefits. The supplement facts label is simply embarrassing in my opinion, especially when compared to the supplement facts labels of their competitors.

We would strongly recommend steering clear and seeking out a more potent greens powder such as the Total Living Drink, which is our top ranked green drink. Generally, superfood supplements that come in powder form are way more potent and effective than the ones that come in capsule form because they contain WAY more fruits and vegetables, as well as other beneficial nutrients.such as probiotics.

Balance of Nature FAQs

Are there any Balance of Nature coupon codes or promo discount vouchers?

There are not currently any Balance of Nature coupon codes available for use, which is unfortunate since the product is pretty over priced in our view. With that being said, even if you could find a coupon code, we still would not recommend the product.

It doesn’t make sense to buy a low quality product from a low end health supplement company just because you can save money on it…it’s still low quality. Our advice is to choose a truly top notch product, and then search for discount codes. Don’t worry about saving money on products that aren’t worth it anyways! Also, the customer service is reportedly very bad, so if you do have a discount voucher, don’t count on it working.

Does Balance of Nature have a money back guarantee?

I’m having trouble coming up with any real benefits that I believe this supplement could actually produce, but hey, at least they have a money back guarantee in place. So, if you make the mistake of buying this supplement, you can still sleep easy at night knowing that there’s a money back guarantee in case you want to return it. With that said, hopefully after reading this review, you understand that this product isn’t worth the money to begin with.

How is Balance of Nature’s customer service?

I would never purchase this product in a million years, so I do not have personal experience with their customer service. With that being said, I did read through a lot of customer reviews and testimonials on Amazon, and there were a lot of complaints about the customer service of Vibrant Health (the health supplement company that makes the product) being poor. Many people said they could not even get in touch with a human being, which is very frustrating.

Is Balance of Nature Non GMO?

Yes, the company claims that the product is in fact Non GMO. Some people may be wondering what this even means and whether or not the claim is true. Based on some of their other claims, I think it’s fair to be skeptical. Here is a good reference if you want to learn more about what Non GMO means explained by Greener Choices, which I have found to be a reliable website in the past.

Is Balance of Nature FDA approved?

No, it is certainly not FDA approved. You will never see a greens powder or any sort of fruits and vegetables powder get FDA approved because Big Pharma does not like supplement companies. With that being said, Balance of Nature should never get FDA approval anyways because I have heard from many people and read many reviews which pretty much all say that it doesn’t produce many benefits, if any at all. You can check out this article as well as this article if you’d like to learn about FDA approval processes and regulations.

Which is better Balance of Nature or Texas Superfood?

Texas Superfood is slightly better than Balance of Nature, but realistically, both of these supplements are very bad. I do NOT recommend either one of these supplements due to a severe lack of potency compared to the top tier superfood supplements. You should steer clear of both of these low end products, but if you want to see them compared directly next to each other, you can read this article I wrote: Balance of Nature Vs Texas Superfood.

Where to buy Balance of Nature at the best price

There are several Balance of Nature retailers including Walmart and GNC, but first of all, how much does Balance of Nature cost? Let’s take a look at where to purchase Balance of Nature & get the cheapest deal on prices, but before we do, I want to go on the record one last time and say I really do not recommend buying this product. It severely lacks potency and is not effective in my opinion.
