Activated You Morning Complete is one of the most popular greens powders on the market today, but does it deserve to be? In this comprehensive Activated You Morning Complete review, we are going to explain why it’s not worth it.
When Activated You (the company) created Morning Complete (the product), they made the same mistake that many greens supplement manufacturers make…significantly under-dosing the superfoods!
The whole point of taking a greens supplement is to maximize your intake of fruits and vegetables as well as superfoods, probiotics, and more, so you want each serving to contain as much of those nutrients as possible. We do NOT recommend Morning Complete due to its lack of potency. To learn about the most potent options on the market, click here: TOP GREENS SUPPLEMENTS.
Activated You Morning Complete review by a Certified Nutrition Coach: Does Morning Complete really work?
Morning Complete may actually work, but here’s the main problem. In each serving, Morning Complete contains 5,000 milligrams worth of superfoods. If that sounds like a lot, you really need to check out our top ranked green drinks. Morning Complete may really work to a certain extent, but it severely lacks potency.
To put it into perspective, let’s compare it to the top ranked greens supplement on this whole site, which is TOTAL LIVING DRINK. The Total Living Drink provides 15,000 milligrams worth of superfoods in every serving, making it 200% more potent than Morning Complete. Let that sink in for a second…for about $15 extra, you can get a green powder that is 3 times more potent. That is an absolute no brainer. You truly get what you pay for in the wellness industry.
Need I say more? While the question on your lips might be “what compares to Morning Complete?”, what you should be asking is “what is better than Morning Complete by far?” For a few extra bucks, you get three times the amount of superfoods. That’s a big difference! You also get a tremendous amount of other beneficial nutrients such as probiotics, digestive enzymes, vitamins and minerals, and more.
My Personal Experience And Results Using Morning Complete
As a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, I feel obligated to personally test every product I write a review for. As a result of my training to be a Nutrition Coach, I can take one look at the Supplement Facts Panel (SFP) of just about any product and tell you whether or not it’s good or bad. However, I never feel completely comfortable recommending (or not recommending) a particular product without having taken it myself. So, I went ahead and tried a 30 day supply of Morning Complete and here’s what happened…
I took a full 30 day supply of celebrity Maggie Q’s Morning Complete to see if it really lives up to the hype (even though most of the hype is just her talking up her own product), and I got essentially no results. After about a month, the only benefit I actually did notice from using Morning Complete was that my gut health was slightly improved. I typically have issues with digestive health, but I didn’t have these issues as severely when I was using Morning Complete. BUT…
That is quite literally the only benefit I experienced. The Activated You supplement did literally nothing else for me. If all I wanted was improved digestion, I would just buy a probiotics supplement that costs 1/10th of the price of Morning Complete, and it would literally work even better. Better yet, I would just do what I normally do and take the Total Living Drink greens powder, which is three times more potent than this supplement. After trying Morning Complete, I went straight back to adding the Total Living Drink into my morning routine to get those amazing benefits I’m so used to experiencing.
Bottom line: As a Nutrition Coach, I would NEVER recommend this product to any of my clients or my readers. I suppose the product wasn’t a complete dud since I did get some digestive relief. However, I know what it feels like to take a top shelf green powder and experience the benefits of it (incredible high energy, impeccable gut health, amazing cognitive function etc.), and Morning Complete just did not come even close to that experience. Based on my personal experience with it, I would recommend avoiding it and looking at some of the more high end superfood powders instead. I simply found Morning Complete to be essentially useless.
Are there any Morning Complete coupon codes or promo discount vouchers?
At the time of writing, there are no active Morning Complete coupon codes. However, even if you can find a discount code, we still wouldn’t recommend this product. It may be over priced, but the bigger problem is that it pretty severely lacks potency. The thing about superfood supplements (and really any nutrition supplement) is that the quality of the ingredients does not matter if the dosages of said ingredients are too small to produce health benefits.
In my opinion, if you can find a coupon, you should throw it in the trash! There is just no scenario in which I can justify recommending this supplement to my readers. I don’t care how big of a discount you can find…it doesn’t make the product any better in terms of quality or potency. You can’t change the formula.
What does Morning Complete do?
What does Morning Complete do for you? It provides you with just over 5,000 milligrams worth of superfoods in the form of a green health drink in order to help boost immunity, energy, and digestion. Again, the benefits of superfoods are truly amazing, but the formula of this health drink in particular just isn’t strong enough. So here’s what I’m going to do…I’m going to explain what green powders can do for you, but first, I want to make it abundantly clear that I do NOT believe Activated You Morning Complete is capable of producing these benefits for you.
The more general question is what can greens supplements do for you, and the answer to that question is a lot longer. Superfoods produce tremendous benefits with regard to gut health, brain health, immune health, blood pressure, digestive health, cholesterol, blood sugar, and much more…but again, you need to pick the right supplement to get these benefits.
Morning complete contains enough nutrients to potentially make you feel some of these benefits on a very minimal level, but really top notch green drinks can be absolutely life changing. As a Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC), whenever clients ask me about superfood powders, I recommend the Total Living Drink because it is what I personally take every morning. As a rule of thumb, I never recommend anything that I wouldn’t take myself.
Morning Complete’s Founder Explains The Ingredients
Here is a video of the celebrity founder of the product, Maggie Q, explaining why you should buy her product. I found this video to be pretty hard to watch because she’s really obviously just trying to push her own product and not really doing any scientific analysis, but hey, that’s just my opinion…
Activated You Morning Complete ingredients list
Here are the primary ingredients in the Morning Complete formula:
- 4G of fiber (tapioca fiber)
- Chicory root
- Cinnamon bark
- Fennel seed
- Spinach
- Milk thistle seed extract
- Monk fruit extract
- Kale
- Alfalfa leaf
- Barley grass
- White tea leaf extract
- Pine bark extract
- Aloe vera leaf
- Ginger
- Turmeric root extract
- Bitter melon fruit extract
- Rhodiola rosea root extract
- Green tea leaf extract
- Astragalus root extract
Prebiotic and High Fiber Blend
This blend alone accounts for over 4,000 milligrams of the 5,000 MG each serving provides, so it’s safe to say that this is the most important blend to consider. However, it only contains two ingredients: Chicory Root and Cinnamon Bark. Nutritionally speaking, this is essentially the definition of putting all of your eggs in two baskets.
Are these good ingredients? Yes, but two ingredients should not account for 80% of the formula. This is simply poor formulation by Activated You, and what it means is that the remaining ingredients are all very under-dosed. Think about it…after you take out the 4,000 milligrams worth of Cinnamon Bark and Chicory Root, that only leaves 1,000 milligrams worth of potency for the remaining ingredients.
The bottom line is, that means every single ingredient with the exception of those two is under dosed, and therefore very unlikely to produce benefits. High quality ingredients aren’t worth anything when the serving size is too small, and the below serving sizes are WAY too small.
Green Superfoods Blend
This is where things start to get really really bad nutritionally speaking. The Green Superfoods blend utilized by Morning Complete contains excellent ingredients, but the overall potency of the green superfoods blend is only 735 milligrams per serving, so you are not by any means getting sufficient dosages here. You simply can not reap the health benefits of the superfoods if the dosages aren’t large enough.
With that said, the green superfoods blend does include powerful superfoods such as Broccoli, Spinach, Kale, Alfalfa Grass, Barley Grass, Milk Thistle Seed Extract, Astragalus Root Extract, and more. If only the blend was more potent! After all, this is the most important blend in the entire formula. You are buying a superfood powder, and the reason you are doing so is you are trying to get more greens, fruits and vegetables in your diet. So, if the green superfoods blend is this severely under dosed, what is the point of the supplement?
Metabolic Blend
Morning Complete’s metabolic blend is another one that again contains solid ingredients but is severely under dosed. It accounts for a total of only 390 milligrams per serving and includes Green Tea Leaf Extract, White Tea Leaf Extract, Ginger, Turmeric, and more. Again, these are awesome ingredients, but it does not matter. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, you can not reap the health benefits of the superfoods if the dosages are too low, and that is again the case here with the metabolic blend.
Antioxidant Blend
If you thought the blend potencies were low before, wait till you see the Antioxidant Blend. The total amount of nutrients per serving in the antioxidant blend is 100 milligrams. The blend contains ingredients that are rich antioxidants like Lycium Berry and Pomegranate, but you’re not going to get results with such small dosages. The antioxidant blend is for sure the worst one in the whole formula. No matter what greens powder you take, the antioxidant blend is super crucial, so this is a huge disappointment for me.
Sugar Balancing Support
In this blend, you get a total of 100 milligrams worth of pine bark extract and fennel seed. Do you see the recurring issue here? Great ingredients, small dosages. It’s a shame because this could have been a great formula, but the company decided to cut corners to save money instead of really going all out to create a powerhouse superfood formula…so sad to see. Truly breaks my heart as a Nutrition Coach.
Adaptogens
Adaptogens are important because they help improve brain function and boost energy levels. Unfortunately, you only get 55 milligrams worth of Adaptogens, but at least they are high quality ingredients including Rhodiola Rosea and Astragalus Root. 55 milligrams is an absolutely pitiful serving size. This is like the equivalent of what you need being a tree, but instead they just pulled one leaf off of the tree and gave you that instead…yikes.
Probiotic Blend
Each serving provides 10 billion CFU worth of probiotics, which is actually pretty impressive. The probiotic blend might be the only dosage size I approve of in the whole formula. Probiotics work wonders on your gut health, digestive health, and overall gastrointestinal system. Probiotics are the key to improving your gut microbiome, which is why you always want to see a significant probiotic blend in your greens powder formula.
“Gut microbiome” is essentially a more complicated and technical way to say “gut health.” There are many bacterias that are harmful to your gut and digestive system and therefore lead to an unhealthy microbiome. However, there are also healthy gut bacteria strains (such as Lactobacillus Gasseri and Lactobacillus Acidophilus) that can contribute to improving your gut microbiome and in turn improve your digestive system function. That’s exactly what probiotics are in a nutshell. In the case of Morning Complete, the prebiotic and probiotic blend is solid, so no worries here…your digestive system will thank you.
Probiotics can also really help improve your bowel movements. You may notice when you first start a green powder that your bowel movements are more frequent…this is usually just part of the detoxification process. Over time, your bowel movement should get healthier. However, always be sure to consult your primary health physician if you are having issues with your bowel movements.
Morning Complete dosage: How much Morning Complete should you take & when?
As the name suggests, Morning Complete is meant to be taken first thing in the morning, but how much are you supposed to take? The dosage size is one scoop, which you are simply supposed to mix in with a glass of water every morning. It’s very quick and easy to add taking your greens powder to your morning routine. I would personally recommend mixing it with your favorite juice or some type of smoothie to mask the taste because this stuff does not taste very good. Then again, I wouldn’t recommend taking this health supplement at all to begin with!
In general, it is best to take your greens powder in the morning since that allows you to experience the health benefits throughout the day. You will have better energy, digestion, immune system function, and more…that is, if you choose a superfood powder that actually works and provides sufficient dosages. Again, I’m sounding like a broken record here, but the Morning Complete dosage is way too small…I’d be shocked if you experienced benefits even if you took double the recommended dosage of this particular health supplement.
Pros and cons of Morning Complete
Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of Morning Complete. As part of our look at the advantages and disadvantages of Activated You Morning Complete, we’ll dig into what good it can do for your body, as well as any other cons including potential side effects, lack of efficacy, and lack of value.
Morning Complete Benefits
Some of the benefits that may result from supplementing with Morning Complete daily include improved digestive health, enhanced immune system function, better gut health, optimized gut microbiome, liver support, and improved energy levels. These benefits would be noticeable almost immediately IF the product was potent enough, but sadly, it just isn’t.
It’s still possible for you to experience these benefits over time, but in my opinion, you’re not likely to get significant results very quickly since the formula simply isn’t potent enough. The bottom line here is really that top notch superfood supplements and green drinks really can be life changing in terms of health benefits, but Morning Complete is simply NOT top notch, so we see it as highly unlikely of being capable of producing the above benefits.
The most commonly reported benefit of Morning Complete we found in the customer reviews was the fact that people said they felt more energy when taking Morning Complete, but we can attribute this to one simple ingredient: green tea leaf extract. If you take enough of that stuff, it’s basically like drinking a cup of coffee. Why pay for a $50 health supplement when you can just drink a cup of coffee? Side note: make sure to take it in the morning instead of at night, otherwise you will not get more restful sleep like the website claims you will…you’d get the opposite most likely.
There are unfortunately way more cons of Morning Complete than there are pros. Let’s go ahead and break some of them down…
Morning Complete Side Effects
Morning Complete side effects shouldn’t be an issue because their formula is completely natural, organic , non gmo, and made in the United States like many other greens powder formulas, so you shouldn’t have too much to worry about in the way of side effects. Superfoods, veggies, and fruits generally do not cause side effects unless you have allergies.
With that said, some people do report experiencing mild stomach cramps when they first start the supplement, which is more often than not just a direct a result of your body getting used to the nutrients. However, if you experience any side effects whatsoever, you should certainly speak with your primary care physician to make sure the supplement doesn’t contain anything that could be problematic for you specifically.
Other Morning Complete Cons
The biggest con here is that most of the potency is concentrated into only two ingredients, as I mentioned before. You are basically taking a supplement that is 80% chicory root and cinnamon bark, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not good either. If you want a complete greens supplement that really thoroughly covers all areas of general health and produces significant health benefits, you simply need to choose a more potent supplement.
The most important con of Morning Complete is that is just severely lacks nutritional potency overall, specifically when it comes to green superfoods. It only provides about 5,000 milligrams of total nutrients. To put that into perspective for you again, our top ranked green drink provides 15,000 milligrams of green superfoods in every serving, and that’s not even taking into account the additional protein powder, probiotics, and digestive enzymes the supplement contains.
The point here is not to keep harping on how much I love the Total Living Drink, but rather to really drive home for you exactly how weak and impotent this formula is. It’s missing so many crucial nutrients when it comes to the green superfoods blend. You’re essentially drastically over paying for what is just a chicory root and cinnamon bark supplement…the cons of Activated You FAR outweigh the pros.
Weight Loss
The last con I wanted to briefly touch on one more time is don’t forget that I actually took this supplement myself, and I experienced virtually no benefits at all when I was using Morning Complete. It just goes to show you that you generally can’t trust a supplement that promises too many benefits like this one does…they even claim it can help you lose weight, which is highly unlikely in my opinion. The only way greens powders can help you lose weight is when they contain protein powder and therefore can serve as a meal replacement supplement.
The main point I wanted to make here is simply that you should always be careful with greens powders that promise weight loss. Weight loss is very hard to achieve. Even the best greens powder supplements on the market can’t help with weight loss on their own…you need to maintain a healthy diet, cut out junk food, and regularly exercise as well. Just be careful with supplements that make weight loss claims…that’s all I’m saying.
Morning Complete supplement complaints & praise (from real Activated You Morning Complete reviews)
We checked out verified Activated You Morning Complete reviews on Amazon to get a feel of what customers are saying about this product. I can take one look at the formula and tell you this isn’t a high quality product, but it never hurts to look at customer reviews.
There are a total of just under a thousand Activated You Morning Complete reviews on Amazon, which gives us a pretty good sample size. The average rating it received is 4 stars out of 5, which is pretty solid.
About 30% of people left complaints and gave it a rating of between only 1-3 stars out of 5, which is definitely concerning. The Morning Complete reviews overall are pretty mixed, but mostly positive.
The main complaints within the negative reviews are that it tastes bad and that the jar does not seem full enough…makes sense considering the low potency, which I’ve been talking about throughout this review. Another one of the biggest complaints we saw was that people said when they bought one jar, they were automatically charged again 30 days after their initial purchase date without expecting it…these people likely accidentally signed up for the monthly subscription option, which will auto renew your purchase of the product monthly. Be careful to not make that mistake…just make sure you select the option that says “one time purchase” or better yet, don’t buy this stuff at all.
The main benefit people reported when using Morning Complete was that they felt more energy. This in my opinion is most likely a result of the high dosage of Green Tea Leaf Extract, which is naturally high in caffeine, so it would make sense for people to feel more energy.
To dive even deeper, let’s take a look at this YouTube video posted by Leslie Portugal, in which she talks about her personal results with Morning Complete after taking it for six months…
Another YouTube review of morning complete created by a YouTuber called Very Real has 170,000 views! In this video, the creator shares her personal experience and results with Morning Complete, explains the story behind the founder of the product (Maggie Q), and ultimately says why she does not recommend the product after 30 days of using it…
Is Activated You Morning Complete good or bad? Our conclusion
At the end of the day, Morning Complete just isn’t worth the money at all in my opinion. The reasons why should be obvious by now, but to sum up, it just lacks potency and severely under dosed a lot of the key ingredients. Plus, I personally had a very negative experience with it. There are also several negative reviews that can be found on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms. It seems that while the creator of the product (Maggie Q) may be famous, her superfood supplement is actually rather infamous.
Morning Complete FAQs
Is Morning Complete legit?
The company Activated You is a legitimate company, but Morning Complete simply is not a good supplement. It severely lacks potency, and the most important ingredients are under dosed. Basically, what you are getting is large dosages of Chicory and Cinnamon combined with a bunch of very small dosages of other nutrients. In my opinion, this is not a legit superfood supplement.
Does Morning Complete make you gassy?
It’s possible that it may make you gassy the first few times you take it since your body is not used to the nutrients. If that’s the case, this side effect should go away after a week or so. However, if you continue to be gassy after a few days of using it, you should probably consult your primary healthcare provider.
Does Walmart sell Morning Complete?
Walmart does sell Morning Complete, but for a higher price than you could get it for on Amazon. We don’t recommend purchasing it anywhere, but if you’re going to buy it, Amazon is the place to get it from. I feel obligated to warn you that you will probably be disappointed with the product, but I can’t stop you from buying it.
When should I take Morning Complete?
It doesn’t necessarily matter when you take it, but in our opinion, best results occur if you take it in the morning. The nutrients have a more powerful effect and are absorbed more properly on an empty stomach. It’s also nice to be able to experience benefits throughout the day as opposed to taking it at night time.
How much does Morning Complete cost?
Morning Complete is very overpriced at $65 for a 30 serving jar. That comes out to $2.16 per serving, and each serving only has about 5,000 MG of superfoods, which is not worth that price. There’s nothing else in the supplement that justifies that price…you barely get and green superfoods, and the other ingredients are average at best.
What about Nighttime Complete?
Nighttime Complete is an entirely different supplement that is designed to help you get more restful sleep at night. I have not personally tested Nighttime Complete, nor have I evaluated the formula in depth. However, I did take a quick look at it since so many people were asking me about it, and it looks like it’s just about as low quality of a supplement as Morning Complete is…I wouldn’t recommend it.
