What Is Organic Protein?

Organic Protein is a vegan option protein supplement that is comprised of a plant based protein blend. This product is also dairy, soy, and cholesterol free for anyone with specific needs related to allergies or intolerances. It comes in two different flavors, decadent chocolate, and French vanilla. Organic Protein also prides themselves on being able to certify themselves with the USDA Organic seal, meaning it is free of synthetic additives like pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and dyes. They refrain from the use of industrial solvents, and any and all genetic engineering.

How Does Organic Protein Work?

Organic Protein works by utilizing a plant based protein blend that is easily digestible and absorbed into your blood stream. This quick absorbing process allows it to be utilized by your muscles as soon as possible for optimal growth and reduced recovery times.

Organic Protein Ingredients

Protein Blend: Organic Protein incorporates a plant based protein blend that differs from other forms of proteins in numerous ways. First of all, non-plant based proteins usually consist of a more complete amino acid profile. Plant based proteins usually do not naturally contain all the amino acids you need for proper muscle maintenance. Plant based protein blends combat this issue by utilizing different plant proteins to try to capture as complete of a profile as possible. When it comes to non-plant based proteins, we are always looking for the fewest sources of high-quality proteins possible. This is impossible for plant based proteins because they need to be able to get you all the amino acids you need for proper muscle growth and recovery. The plant based protein included in Organic Protein consists of organic pea protein and organic brown rice protein.

BCAA Count: The BCAA count refers to the amount of Branched Chained Amino Acids present in a protein blend. These amino acids occur naturally in protein sources, but can always be added to a blend. Additional BCAAs are something that we would have especially liked to see in a plant based protein blend such as this one. They can make a big difference in increasing the amount of energy you having during your workout, increasing your muscle growth, and reducing your recovery time significantly. We recommend that you supplement BCAA drinks while you workout in addition to your protein shake in order to get the most out of your workouts.

Nutritional Information: In one serving of Organic Protein, you can expect to find:

  • Calories: 140
  • Total Fat: 2g
  • Cholesterol: 0mg
  • Total Carbohydrates: 10g

The amount of calories is pretty high in comparison to other plant based proteins we have reviewed. In addition to that we also have a higher sodium content then we are used to seeing from these brands of protein. Overall, we are not too impressed with this nutritional label, even though they did a good job with containing zero cholesterol.

The Cons

  • Unimpressive nutrition label
  • People have complained about stomach distress

Organic Protein Review Conclusion

Overall, we generally don’t think that plant based proteins such as Organic Protein can compete with proteins that utilize whey protein isolate or hydrolysate in their blend. That being said we understand that different people have different dietary restrictions, and we have still found plant based protein blends that have been healthier than Organic Protein.
